There's a brewpub in New Haven called BAR. Great place, great name, great beer and the pizza's fantastic.

That was our name for years for the beer bar we're about to open, but it's trademarked.

Heh....we ended our tour there last week. Ask about the sudden influx of various European accents. Gotta be honest though - I wouldn't have stopped in had it not been the "official" spot, as the name was a turnoff. Made it sound like a really cheap, sleazy place. Surprised by the selection of good canned brews - and the offer for a glass before being served.

Now, my bar? Maybe the Slug & Lettuce. No reason other than remembering seeing that sign in England when I was 12, and fifteen years later it's still on my mind.

When I was in college we had a bar just off campus called "The Library", they excepted student debit cards. Which was clever as hell because if the parents looked at the card history it would just be labelled "The Library".
