What year is this bottle BA Santa's Little Helper?

I have a bottle of BA Santa's Little Helper that I think is from 2010 but I'm not sure.

It has a red label and says "Stout aged in bourbon barrels" on it.

Can anyone confirm the year and whether it's likely to be flat? Trying to decide if I should wait to open it at a time when I'm up for using the Carbonator Cap.

2012 had red labels and said the same thing. Just drink it and find out!

It's definitely not 2012. I thought the newer bottles say "ale aged in oak barrels" instead of "stout aged in bourbon barrels."

Oh damn, my bad - I never noticed the wording change. Yours could definitely be a '09, one of the "flat" years. Maybe someone else can chime in whether or not later vintages had the same label.

11 and 12 definitely said "oak" so... it's obviously older than that.

I recall answering this question (or one very similar about BA SLH labels) on the old forums, but that's lost to the ages...I want to say it's an '09, but I'm not sure. I'm going to my storage locker tomorrow morning, if I remember I'll check labels for '09 and '10 and see what the differences are.

I think I got it at the Christmas in July when they released DDG. Was that '09?

Yeah, '09 was DDG and the first release of BA SLH.

OK, thanks. And does this mean it's likely flat?

Probably, yeah...last '09 I drank was about 9 - 12 months ago, and it was pretty much flat.

Thanks. I'll save it for a time when I have my carb cap ready.
