First, I'm gonna fill a hot tub with Corona, then I'm gonna douse my almost naked body with lime juice.....

Then I'm gonna do the triple lindy into the deep end. Whilst underwater, I'll drink my way to the surface!

When I surface, I plan for drink icy-cold Pabst Blue Ribbon!!

I was supposed to pick up my bottles this weekend. Sadly I decided against this. Levi said he will hold them which I appreciate. I look forward to my trip there!

It'll be a clockwise trip through Orange and Rockland counties, in New York, starting at Rushing Duck for a couple of stout/barleywine pours, then onto Industrial Arts for some liter, crisper offerings (my wife's driving by now), and then to Burger Loft for a mushroom burger and a couple D96 pours.

The way this thing is going, it might be a random pint of whatever's local in Pocatello, Idaho, this August. That's being hopeful.

If the all-clear comes after August, maybe something on cask at Acopon Brewery in Dripping Springs or at the Draught House in Austin. Or a pint of bitter or mild at Holler Brewery in Houston.

Great question and loads of great answers!

It's just Uber-American to not be able to go without something for what's basically nanoseconds in the grand scheme of things before wanting it again. We've been at home for, what, five days? With tons of beer at still-open grocery stores and dozens of breweries who are doing take-out and delivery of beer? Why can't we sit with loss for a few minutes? If this goes on for weeks/months, sure, I'll start craving a beer at the bar or brewery with friends, Until then, I'm more worried about when I'll get to see my dad again in his nursing home, or, actually, whether I'll ever see him again.

A lot of us have those rare/costly beers in our cellar that we look for the "perfect" reason to open. Sometimes those reasons/events don't seem to come along frequently so the beer continues to age (hopefully well). The end of this devastating virus will be a reason for us to dig into the back of the cellar and share a big bottle with a fellow beer friend. I'll be looking to haul something to a local place in Eagan, MN (Ansaris) that allow shares on site in addition to enjoying the excellent tap options they have available.

It depends on who will weather this and be able to reopen. But it will be local and probably something strong. Like an Imperial Stout or a DIPA.

I'm worried about some of our small Breweries.

I'll be in a bar, restaurant or Brewery in a foreign country, overlooking a nice surf break, or it could be from a boat, taking a beer and water break and getting ready to paddle back out.
Or, at the bottom of a ski slope in Europe.
Or, at a little cafe in Nova Scotia eating a lobster roll and quaffing a fresh local IPA.
But at the very least to my little tap room or Brewery within walking distance of my home, on that wonderful day when all this dies down, all these scenarios would be wonderful.
To that day my friends, Cheers!

I hear you. And I know my perspective is colored . . . just found out about a second-degree-of-separation Covid-19 death.

I want to throw out one more thing, that also might not sound positive. I was on a Webinar a couple of days ago for mental health care professionals that talked about the effects of social isolation on substance abuse and domestic violence. I won't go into great detail here, but I wonder if it might be responsible to have a pop-up or permathread about drinking responsibly during this crisis. I know it's not popular to talk about alcohol abuse here on BA, but there's a real potential for catastrophe here. I plan to keep drinking moderately, but I'm noticing a knee-jerk tendency in myself to reach a little too easily for that third or fourth DIPA in a session.

We're going to head to a local farmhouse brewery, order the freshest saison available, find a seat outside, and take deep breaths of country air while hoping a food truck shows up with a culinary craving.

@JayORear --right on. Now with a "stay at home order" for "non-essential" personnel in Mecklenburg Co, I suspect "5 o'clock" may be earlier for many of those folks now out of work completely. People are worried. The lines at the ABC store and cases of wine/beer at grocery store seem to show that folks are "stocking up."

This is a beer website and although fun to think about a brewery to visit and getting up with friends again when this gets better, I agree it would be valuable to remind folks to take care of themselves and moderate. Perhaps even take advantage of a little more time to exercise (exempted from stay at home order).

My buddy and I had done a trip to Treehouse from NYC in January. (2 and 1/2 hour drive from NYC) We had been considering making a longer and more ambitious trip to Hill Farmstead in the spring. Clearly that’s off the table for now, but, it can be brought back into discussion once this is all over.

I don't care which beer it is as long as it is with some of the people I haven't been able to see for a while.

Also, next time I watch an apocalyptic disaster movie it better be boring as heck with people just sitting around in social isolation with nothing to do.

Not sure what the exact beer will be (probably an IPA or something of like) but I do know it'll be at one of two of my favorite nearby breweries - Linage or Somewhere in Particular. Most likely Lineage as we've been going there since before my son could walk and he's just about to turn 5. Lots of fun memories there.

I can't definitively say yet because 1), I have no idea how long it might take for this thing to be "over"; an outcome of normalcy is hard to quantify, and 2) I do most of my drinking at home as it is, so for as long as the grocery stores remain open and I don't become sick I'll continue to drink beer regardless. However, I can't wait until my favorite bars/restaurants/breweries reopen. I plan on hitting up all my favorite local spots as soon as I can.

    Ahhh...that looks so refreshing.

For now though, being down to one income, beer was the first thing that got cut out of our expenditures. Hope all are staying safe and healthy, be well!
