    Flags are flying all over Brussels today for Belgian independence. A visiting friend asked if there's some "most quintessentially Belgian" beer for the occasion. All I could think was, “Don't say Jupiler, don't say Jupiler….” So, if you accept this cheesy thread, what? A favorite, a widely imitated exemplar, an oddity found only (t)here? I can’t just pick a Cantillon with the flag label, as both too obvious and maybe a bit regional. A blond Trappist, as a style that at least does span the territory?
