Wow TW is not that responsive, never got back to me. So i'm goning in a different direction... spoke to Michale Kane and will be grabbing a sixtel of Head High to break my kegerators cherry!
I want an invite to that party!!!!
I've gone all Bear Republic this time around ... 1/2 of Racer 5 (always good) and 1/6 of Red Rocket (also solid). I've been using BevMo for the past couple of years to get kegs. Decent prices, and once you get to know the people that order and work with distributors, they'll often get most any beers requested, as long as distributor can get them. I've been able to get a few great Belgians over the years that way (though they are pricey). Lower keg costs can be had by working directly with Breweries too ... I know Drakes, and Lagunitas for sure sell kegs direct here in Bay Area.

To be honest, I am disappointed in the Head Hunter. Keg was 3 weeks old when I bought it and it tastes nothing like the bottles I have consumed over the past 6 months. Not terrible by any means, but had I known the tap version was that different I would have chosen something different.
Bare Hands 7c's is excellent.
I was able to get a 1/2 barrel of Rogue Double Chocolate Stout for $64, so I'll be drinking that for a while.
Can't wait to experiment with a French Press.
Currently have a simcoe ipa and pumpkin ale carbing so sadly, nothing ready to pour just yet

I have currently Victory Storm King Stout and I just tapped Sam Adams Ofest.
I figure by the time I kick the Ofest, it will be SN Celebration time!!!!!! Ahhhh, I can taste it now.
Update here...I returned the Head Hunter. The rep for the distributor did taste it and confirmed that there is definitely something wrong with it. First time I have ever had to return a keg (or had a quality issue). Good news is that a new keg is on the way. Glad the distributor stood being their product. Also kudo's to City Wide in South Bend for being an awesome beer store....they were determined to make the situation right regardless. They'll always get my business.
Nothing to exciting at the moment
Tap 1: CBC IPA

Great! I was sooooo disappointed in your story of the Head Hunter keg. I have a case of it at home (trying it for the first time) I just got that was dated mid September. It's not normally available here, but I got a lucky score from a guy who got it from Pittsburgh. It is so damn delicious! I was salivating thinking of having a keg of it until I read your post, but now I feel better. If this beer was available all the time here in Eastern PA, I'd be having a keg of it on tap all year long. Fantastic, fantastic beer!
