I did a trade with a guy in New Jersey a few days ago, and he even warned me that it may be sent back because every single package has been sent back. I packaged it perfectly, no sloshing noises or anything. Apparently it was on the last truck on the way to his house when it was returned, and its now coming back to me. Does anyone have experience with fedex Nj? What is that theyre looking for that they sent it back? I need to get him his goods, so how can i make sure it gets through bext time?
if it gets to "on the truck for delivery," it's purely the fault of an overzealous driver. there is no "deal" with the state of New Jersey. and if it's an issue with Fedex delivering to where this person lives, can you really not figure out another way to accomplish this?
I misunderstood, and thought it was the state of new jersey that was rejecting packages, but apparently its this particular fedex hub. So i will have to go ups.
for 2+ months, anything sent to me via Fedex Home Delivery was marked improper shipment/return to sender, because of a driver on my route who was basically a d-bag with nothing better to do. these were boxes that came in thru the Secaucus hub but Fedex Ground made it through no problem (different trucks/drivers/hub) and then yesterday a Home Delivery package was delivered w/o issue it's always the drivers, sometimes the hub, never the state
That's exactly what happened here, improper shipment, and it's on its way back. But why, that's what I don't understand. And what makes them just suspect a package is alcohol? Unless they get some points/raises or something, why the hell should they care. This was a Home Delivery, to Edmund, and it was also through the Secaucus hub. Thanks for your info man.
Do you guys think they will Flag my fedex account now that they know I shipped some beer? First time I've had a package rejected.
I know of 1 person a while back who is convinced from personal experience that they flagged his account. No FedEx employee has ever confirmed this. I personally seriously doubt it given the unwieldy task of maintaining such a system accurately and effectively. If it wasn't returned after "on vehicle for delivery" or known hubs (such as Williston, VT) people simply slap the new label on and resend it. I had one returned to me after "on vehicle for delivery" to VT. I switched to UPS for that box, but sent the next boxes via FedEx without any issues. You should've sent UPS as soon as your trade partner said packages were being sent back. Even 1 package being sent back raises the flag for me. It's not the noise, it's the suspicion of incoming packages to the same address that is known to receive beers shipped "improperly". Definitely use only UPS to that particular trade partner from now on.
Ive had issues with SNJ and FedEx, not just NNJ Hubs, but SNJ too, out for delivery, than both boxes got flagged and sent back to sender.
And you just had another problem If I'd noticed this I'd have sent UPS. Guess I'm setting up a UPS account and resending!
There have been multiple reports here of the Williston, VT facility's "hero" employees suspecting and opening packages and returning them to sender. At one point, around the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) 2013, there was a significant surge of packages being returned that people were advised to avoid shipping by FedEx altogether. I only ship UPS to VT now.
