I usually drink bourbon on mountain trips, so I'm going with the elevation of my prior house which was about 1640 in Trabuco Canyon CA

I'm very happy that my current home is exactly at elevation 420, this is where most of my beer is now consumed.

Heck if I know the elevation, it was in the air, Delta Airlines to and from Vegas. It was some years ago, I don't remember the beer. But that was also the highest elevation I ever peed from :sunglasses:

Many beers have been on consumed the tops and sides of mountains, but some memorable spots:

Had one (a Coors Light, I believe) after a hike to the top of Mount Sherman, which is 14,035 according to the Wiki.

Also had one (Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose) after a ski to the top of New York Mountain, which is roughly 12,500. Then we skied back to the hut where we were staying (at around 11,000) and I had this: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2681/150428/?ba=RyanStelzner.

Is Mexico City that high? Damn. I've had a loooot of beers in that town, didn't get as drunk as I'd think given the altitude.

Mammoth mtn elevation 11,060. Drinking one beer feels like im drinking 3 beers. We would drink beers on the gondola ride and save a couple when we get the the top. Amazing views!
Funny story, first time I went to mammoth lakes about 11-12 years ago staying in a 3 story condo with friends.
Got shit faced drinking new castle and walked down two sets of stairs to take a piss, got to the toilet and I completely passed out. Friends found me 10 minutes later dazed with my chin split open and blood everywhere. Had to get stitches at the hospItal. I was soo embarass that i told people I split my chin on a rail while snowboarding. Glad I dont remember it!

I just remembered I once went to Ruidoso, NM (elev. 7,965) with my sister's family. So my previous answer of Santa Fe was wrong. That said, we mostly were doing things with the kids so not a lot of opportunities for drinking and I was hanging out with my brother-in-law all weekend so chances are good I mostly just drank Budweiser.

Johnnie Fox's Pub about a 20 mile bike ride south of Dublin in the Dublin mountains - its the highest pub in Ireland and the beer was Guinness. At 906', it not a Guinness world record for the highest beer. Other than that in Minnesota everything is about 700' or so above sea level.

Mammoth Lakes is listed at 7880' so there for sure. I can't remember if I ever humped any beers to any high peaks. No way I was carrying any when I hiked the John Muir Trail. I should have taken one up Mt Elbert.

I need to get around more. I've been to Colorado and places like pikes peak, but I was not of drinking age.

I'm guessing my highest would be a Busch (before my craft beer drinking days) at just under 1,500 ft @ Devil's Doorway on the bluffs of Devil's Lake in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Pretty underwhelming compared to some of these answers lol

Had a can of Dale's while riding the Imperial chair at Breckenridge a few weeks back. Being the highest lift in North America, it reaches 12,840' at the top but I probably finished the beer closer to 12,600 to avoid being seen by ski patrol

Numerous times at 10-12k feet at a High Sierra lake. We establish our "base camp" as high as possible for acclimation during our annual trip. Thank god there are quality choices of beer in cans now - damn glass is heavy

14265 My first thought was a new peak has grown as my memory was 14,400's was the highest. Or someone has a hell of a vertical jump. Being a flat lander from DE I have always wanted to get to 14000. Highest so far is 13000. Someday.

Mt Elbert is the highest at 14,440' and the only peak higher (CONUS) is Mt Whitney at 14,505' Elbert is also the easiest one to summit of the 14ers in Colorado so if you're looking to go big that's the one to do it on. You can park at 10K not far from Leadville. Earn that beer - ski lifts are for quitters.

4400 vertical seemed a bit daunting. I try to climb Mt Washington every round birthday. 60 comes up one of the next two summers. I just googled and saw that is 4280 vertical so 4400 doesn't seem as bad now. Not that Mt Washington is a walk in the park.

I've hiked all of the AT so I'm well versed in Mt Washington. The trail to Mt Elbert is easier (read: not rocky) but the elevation will flat whoop your ass.

Took a couple Dale's pale ale and hiked to the top of Mount Elbert (14,439 ft) in CO. By the time I summited, I was so nauseous and light headed I skipped the beer. I actually vomited while going down. I guess that's what happens when you don't live in that area. My friend who lived in Denver was fine and drank his beer.
