What's the last lager you had that impressed the hell out of you?

Tried The Bruery Ruekeller Helles Lager a couple weeks ago and was super impressed by it. Been meaning to pick up another 4 pack so thanks for the reminder!

I was sure Pull Tab used Mosaic, but you might be right on the Simcoe, my memory is off a bit sometimes, but it’s a nice twist to a Pils.

Best lagers I've had in 2020 so far (had at least 10 new ones). There are 2 that I seemed to rate pretty darn high in relation to my other lager scores.

    DC Brau - Brau Pils
Other Half - Laurel Laurel (German Pilsner).

Been probably at least a year, but I'm still blow away recalling Resident Culture's Wildlight (a wild fermented German Helles Lager). Experimental beer for sure, yet the craftsmanship and quality of that beer is truly incredible.

The most recent lager that impressed me was Komes Raspberry (Malinowy) Porter. This beer had fantastic flavor and a nice aroma. It was memorable enough to come to mind as soon as I saw this thread. On a side-note I also remember it having a very good price, especially for an imported beer brewed with flavor additions.

I am also a fan of Únětický 10°. Below is the 10° I drank at Únětický Pivovar:

I also had the pleasure of drinking a glass of 10° which was poured directly from the lagering tank as I chatted with the brewer after the brewery tour.

    Cheers!

Casual Creature by Noble Creature. Dark lager that's super drinkable with a mild roast that has a hint of coffee.

Agreed. This iteration of Winter Landscape was incredible. But in terms of “dark” lagers, I think Suarez River had it edged out. Grimm Lithos was another great rendition but I’d put it Suarez > IA > Grimm.

Firestone Walker 805. It's nothing outrageously magnificent, its just a very flavorful, easy to drink(easy to find) lager. It's what I think lagers should be: simple and tasty.

Line extension? (I know they have a different website just for 805 - although the furthest east it gets is Illinois - so I've never had the original*.)
    * But if I did, I know what song I'd be singing in my head...

Yeah, yeah... I know all about it. Central CA area code.

Totally depends if we are talking adjunct, European, or what because there are a few out there that are damn good.

Internationally I'd say Kingfisher from India or even Amstel from Holland.

Domestically (USA) I would have to recommend Coors prohibition-style Batch 19 beer was the best for what it is before its retirement.

Some times I look at Busch and really appreciate it for what it is, though I feel like there is a lot of people who will bash the quality of the product. Also Coors Extra Gold is the next level for style. I haven't really loved a lager more than Miller High Life at the end of the day. Also being located in Maryland not to push some love to Yuengling would be sacrilegious. Not to forget about Philadelphia BrewCo's Kenzinger - that stuff was amazing.

If there is one I am sort of in awe of it, that is still brewed, it would be:

Session Lager from Full Sail Brewery.

I really like Oskar Blues Mama's little yella pills although its easy to find so loses .rar points.

    Bierstadt Slow Pour Pils
    River North Pilsner
    Suarez Family Pilsner
    Crooked Stave Von Pilsner

I like my pilsners on the light/clean side and find that many are too dank/hoppy for me.

It should be a felony to make a beer that good - I bought a couple of 6ers of that when it released right before we moved from Minnesota in early 2017, and kicked myself all the way to Texas for not purchasing more.

The beer buyer at the beer store I frequented in Mankato was a HUUUUUUUGE Schell's fanboy, so he loaded up on everything of theirs that he could, especially the Stag Series stuff and the Noble Star Berliner Weisse series (which was traveshamockery good, IMHO). Man, do I miss me some Schell's.

Sauvin Blanc from Kinslahger. It's a "brut lager" hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Hallertau Blanc hops. It has a very dry, white-wine taste, almost like a champagne. I was going to order something else, but the bartender gave me a sample, and it changed my mind quickly.

Tree House Wanderer, a German Helles. Tree House had done things in that vein before but they were typically lackluster and not really true to style lagers, or at least that's not how they came across.

Aside from that, and while not technically a lager, Battery Steel's Golden Path was a pilsner that completely caught me off guard. Was not expecting something that good style wise to come out of there.
