It really comes into its own after five years. Especially when poured over ice cream.

Under two weeks is good. I won't buy it over a month old.
Day old Pliny is really something special if you can get it.

you guys are all on drugs, a month old pliny tastes just like a 2 week old pliny, A bottle of pliny should never even exist over 2 months old, the demand is too high for the supply that is put forth. shut up and drink the damn solid balanced double ipa.

I don't think I have ever encountered a Pliny over a 2 weeks old...wait, scratch that I had one that was 3 years old at a bottleshare with westcoastbeerlover a couple of months ago. I would say steer clear of those 2010 vintages

I legitimately have no clue who's being sarcastic and who's being serious in this thread.

A three year old bottle of anything is probably going to be oxidized.

surpisingly not as oxidized as it was just purely malt

1 week old pliny > 2 week old pliny
2 week old pliny > 3 week old pliny
3 week old pliny > one month old pliny
one month old pliny > no pliny

RR has a super low oxygen bottling line, so this makes sense.

Oxidation wouldn't occur on the bottling line, it would occur because there is at least some small rate of oxygen ingress into regular bottle caps. A good post on this is is in the cellaring thread:
