Their IPAs are definitely on the sweet side, sweeter than I prefer (Maximus is the most extreme example, IMO). I find the sweetness of the lower ABV ones (the flagship IPA and New Dogtown) to be much more reasonable.

I’ve always been a fan of New Dogtown, back on point to Sucks, I had a bottle last night. Tasted decent, and pretty much as I remembered it, although the color was more yellow/pilsnener looking and I thought I remember it was more amber/ruby in color like SN Torpedo. Maybe my memory is off.

I'll pick it up if I see it. This used to be my favorite beer. I would buy cases of this stuff when it was released seasonally. Unfortunately once they started making it year round it tasted way off to me. Didn't know they stopped making it for a while.

This year's Born Yesterday was pretty damn good btw. They are still capable of making great beer.

I had my first bottle of Born Yesterday last evening and I agree with "pretty darn good". I picked up a little bit of oniony/garlic on the nose and taste; I am not a big fan of this specific flavor profile. My 'plan' is to consume these beers quickly since in past batches of Born Yesterday I found that as the beer ages the onion/garlic becomes much more notable as the beer ages (in just a few weeks).

For folks who enjoy onion/garlic in their beers - maybe purposefully age the bottles before drinking?

    Cheers!
