Just wondering what everyone's favorite local/non-production brewery is. I always like the brew-pub atmosphere over big guys like Founders, GI, etc.

Well, favorite is a tough word... But The Ale Apothecary out of Bend, OR is pretty amazing. Everything is done by hand on a very small scale and in a very cool way. Hard to explain any better than they do themselves...

Look for amazing things from this brewery: http://www.thealeapothecary.com

If you're in the Philly area, give Triumph a go. The make some solid beers there.

Well, at the moment Societe Brewing is my favorite, but they will be in full production soon. There are a ton of good non-production breweries here in North County San Diego! One of my current favorites is Rip Current Brewing. Then, any of the Pizza Ports (not the same as Port/Lost Abbey) are GREAT! The best non-production in fact here in SD for sure... Great beer, Great pizza, Great atmosphere... Especially post a good surf!

Non production? That would have to be my own homebrew setup, Cavern Tavern. Limited Production/Brewpub? Peekskill Brewery, Rushing Duck, Tired Hands, Crossroads, and Kane are my favorites from tri State area, Boneyard in Oregon is pretty damn good as well

There's so many near where I live, but Woodward Avenue Brewers is right behind my work, so it's close, and their beer is pretty good. Copper Canyon in Southfield is also great. I've only been once, but all the beers were great, and some were even favorites. I can also easily bike to the Royal Oak area which has Bastone and the Royal Oak Brewery, but I haven't been there enough times to call them favorites.

Willoughby Brewing Co. gets lost in the shuffle locally with Great Lakes, Fat Heads, and The Brew Kettle. They used to be kind of lackluster but they've stepped their game up over the years with new brewmaster. They've always had their Peanut Butter Coffee Porter in their pocket, but now they pump out some solid hoppy beers. They attempt alot of styles, some better than others. Food is good too.
