Anyone know who/where Lawson's Finest Liquids gets his maple syrup from that he uses in his beers?

I couldn't yell ya, but Vermont is famous for their maple syrup, so I can guarantee it's very local.

Yea I would think it would definitely be from Vermont, just wondering if anyone knew exactly who/where he gets it?

According to their website, he gets maple sap from Paul Marble from Fayston, VT for Maple Tripple. Not sure if he gets all of his stuff from him. I'm sure someone else could answer this question much better than I could. I'm not from VT, but I've been a big fan of his operation for some time.

Well this makes sense considering it has Fayston in the name.

According to Sean he actually uses concentrated maple sap (i.e. sap that's been boiled some, but not enough to make syrup) in the Maple Tripple. No water at all.

I believe the brewery is a converted sugarhouse, so no longer true, but no doubt the case when he was a (multi-award winning) homebrewer. Anyway, making syrup is more work than making beer so he probably couldn't fit it in nowadays.

Really? That seems odd for some reason unless he's boiling it to a certain gravity for consistency.

Some rare tree farm in very small quantities, given the high price & exclusivity of his beer. But that's what beer geeks want nowadays, so who cares what it costs or what you need to do to get some. VT boutique beers are the best!

Have you been waiting all day for a Lawsons thread to post this?

Absolutely. Just tell me where to go to get it, I have plenty of time & money to burn.

Not odd at all, it's the tailings. It's the final boil and the end of the seasons sap. Bringing it to a certain sugar content is a planned thing

A buddy of mine did this once with a beer. It didn't come out great but it was very alcoholic and cloying. It got better with some age though!
