For a good period of time I could find decent quantities of G Bot in stores on a semi-regular basis. I haven't seen it around in more than a month, any word on what the deal is?

Have you found it more recently? Any word on production problems?

I was at the brewery today and overheard...
    1. It's been selling out crazy fast
    2. There are certain beers they haven't been brewing much because it's hard to get their hands on the necessary hops. I think this comment was about Ghandi bot but I didn't catch the whole conversation

where the hell in CT are you where its regularly available? it's not even released monthly via can so I don't know why you are so confused. Maybe you live in a small town where no one picks it up immediately and it sits for a week or two? Beats the hell out me where you got this idea...

Ok Oklahoma, you know what you're talking about for sure. I haven't bought it semi-regularly at all, I was just imagining that. People say you can't find it by the case either...

That's kind of what I figured, I know a few different breweries are having issues with hop contracts etc. Locust Reign is alright, but looking forward to some of the other IPA's. Thanks for the insight.

    Cheers!

I'm pretty much a whole 10 minutes away, and haven't seen G-Bot in stores at all lately.A friend of mine owns a store a town over and he has seen 1 case in the last 2 months. It is what it is,I miss the old days already.

    Cheers

I don't think I could capitalize CT in my name enough...I just moved to OK. And looking back my post was a little douchy and probably ignorant, my apologies. In tolland county I saw it very infrequently as of the last 2 years, and I was always under the impression they only canned it quarterly, if that. So monthly-ish seemed surprising to me, but maybe getting it that much was normal before I got into craft (2012). Just looking at their facebook page its filled with comments about when they are canning again or why they don't make more, so I'm not surprised if its not around as much. Its a shame, but at least its frequently available for growlers, which is where I got all mine. I'd be curious to see if they ever replace or cut back on 668 or the pils to can more gandhi bot.

I also have been able to pick up gandhi, both in stores and at the brewery, with a fairly regular frequency up until recently (within the last 2-3 months I'd say). It's not like every time I'd walk into the store it would be sitting on the shelves waiting to be had, but my regular liquor store would keep a somewhat consistent supply. I think @CTbrewman32 is a bit off base to doubt the regularity of gBot brewing schedule based on availability in Tolland county.

With all that said, it was mentioned there was some dispute with distribution regarding unequal allocations of gandhi bot...this somewhat coincides with the lack of availability. I'd expect to see gbot in smaller amounts at more locations going forward but most of this is all based on my own speculation.

I wish they'd just give up on canning Gandhi-Bot and declare it brewery only. They'll still sell every drop they make and make more money doing so. Then, they could maybe do special releases in cans of some of the short batch stuff they make (maybe come up with a generic can like "NEBCO Chef's Special") and distribute it as sporadically and unevenly as they distribute Gandhi in cans now. Since these won't be declared to be year round, it will be a treat if I run across one of those four-packs on the shelf, rather than the constant lingering disappointment I get from entering yet another CT packie every time I visit and once again finding no Gandhi there.

From what I heard, smaller places that didn't get Gandhi started to complain. Now instead of bigger places getting huge allotments (like Amity getting 5+ cases), smaller dumber stores started getting it too, so it's spread pretty thin. I think it's true because I go to this shitty store near me because they sell singles, and I'll get NEBCO cans to throw in as extras. When the dude asked if I needed anything else, I jokingly said, "not unless you have any Gandhi," knowing full well they've never had it. And then he's like yea hold on, I think some just came in. And I bought a 4-pack.

Yep,from what I have heard, looks like distributors got silly and ignored all or most new/smaller stores that was asking for Bot that may have never asked before.Instead of giving them atleast a case, those stores got nothing or had to fight constantly for a case. Now the state is involved. Some stores sell alot of NEBCo., some don't, but all should be getting something regardless.(I hope newer/smaller stores asking carry other NEBCo. stuff too!)Shoot,I remember Amity and Coastal getting 10-15 cases of the Bot.BUT as you already know, this was when Bot was not as popular as it is today.

    Cheers M

I concur. I used to be able to get it from a 2 different stores in Ansonia pretty much whenever I felt the urge to get it. However, I have been calling to see when its in, and I have only been successful once in the past month and a half.

I know if i ever need it I can get to the brewery, but I like the convenience of the cans.

I was about to ask if it ever makes it to RI. I live in MA on the RI border, with no known availability, it's never worth going to CT on the off chance you might find it.

I was going to say how much easier it has gotten to get some. Follow when they put fresh Gandhi on at the brewery, a few days later cans will hit stores. My local store is getting 2 cases in about every three weeks. It's gone in about 5 days of them getting it in but more than enough time to get a 4 pack.

i got a 4pk about 2 or 3 weeks ago and that was it. usually they'll tell me to come back in a few days once all the regulars get some but that was all to be had. I think it'll be back at the brewery for next week but who knows.

I heard the same thing about smaller stores getting shafted. I never knew allocating beer was illegal. I dont know what to think regarding the practice. On the one hand it sucks that not everyone was getting Gbot, but are these stores selling any other NEBCO products? It seems a bit unfair to expect to be given a product that is in extremely limited supply, while not carrying any Seahag, Elm City or 668. A few stores that I frequent have mentioned that the only reason they get any Gbot is because they sell a ton of their main line up. If I were a sales rep, I would be taking care of the stores that carry their core brands first.

Same goes for the specialty draft stuff. Should a bar that never has had any NEB beers ever get a keg of Coriolis when it comes out? Or should a bar that regularly has Sea Hag or the other core beers on tap (or in cans) get it? However, in this example I don't think any bar should get more than one keg or log of a specialty beer if it's really limited.

I've been selling NEBCo for years, it's mostly on the part of the brewery not keeping up with demand(also distro to other states doesn't help) allocating doesn't help either. While my salesman only gets 5 cases to sell in his territory, others get 30/50 for theirs. F'ed up is what I say. Either way I'm happy I get at least a case or two when they're around

ok I understand. the store I procure from gets 5-10 cases every 4-8 weeks or so. it is a large store that sells a ton of seahag and pils. krauzers around the corner started selling their seahag @8.99 a 6 pk so coastal does as well now. as a matter of fact coastal was selling seahag for the 4th of july weekend @7.99 a 6 pk. I actually get my allotment of gbot cans and give them away and get my personal usage gbot @ the brewery. so I'm not a total dick. lol.
