    Hey Bay Area BAs,

Flying up early am this Saturday (arrive 8am) and then driving up to Napa. I'm planning to stock up on bottles for the weekend and was wondering where I should go, especially considering it's a bit early. Is there a noticeable difference in selection at WF Lake Merritt vs the ones in Berkeley? WF in Napa would be somewhat on the way for us too. Just wanted to see if I'm missing anything and would appreciate any local help. Thanks!

Ledger's Liquor in Berkeley on University is always a good stop.

Drive over the hill from Napa and hit russian river. It's "on the way" from Napa to some wineries. Get pliny, pig and some sours. Set for the weekend.

@dcgunman Unfortunately Rare Barrel and Fieldwork won't be open before we have to get up to Napa. Luckily I'm back in town in a few weeks and those two are on the itinerary
@Lostmango trust me I'd be there if I had my way. Unfortunately this weekend isn't a beer trip but I figure I could load up for the spot we're staying at

Would Sierra Nevada's Torpedo Room be open for you? Get yourself a Bigfoot vertical six pack.

I would suggest Berkeley Bowl West on Heinz. Better selection than any of the WF locations, and just minutes of I-80. It's pretty much an east bay WF but bigger and better.

Whole Foods on Gilman is maybe 2 miles off of 80 in Berkeley. Solid section.

Berkeley Bowl opens at 9am. (2 locations), first choice
There's also a local grocer Andronico's , 2 locations in Berkeley Open at 7am and 7:30am, they are my second choice
    Shop local!
    Whole Foods opens at 8am.

Has anyone been to Bottles in El Sobrante? I'm curious about a beer shop that also sells Indian groceries and clothing. And they can pour tastings?

I assume you're going 80 to 37 to 29, yes? Only ones I can think of along that route except there are several BevMo, but the above choices are all better.

someone please correct me if I am wrong on this, but I think they're owned by the same owners as Perry's in Livermore...if that tells you anything.

    I'd recommend:
    Good Hop
    Beer Revolution

Both about 10mins from the airport.
