I'm going to open a couple celebratory bottles today, and I was wondering which of these you would have the most concern with cellaring any further. For the most part I've just held on to them for special occasions not for an intent to improve

    Old Rasputin XII
    '11 PVW DL
    '12 Black Note
    '12 Eclipse Elijah Craig 12/18
    Old Rasputin XIV

No concern cellaring all of those listed as "'12." Might want to crack the Raspy XII. But then again, I'm a hoarder and I still have the Millenium Edition Raspy. But the 18 EC Ecclipse is pouring soooo nicely. A beautiful beverage.

Thanks for the input. I haven't opened an aged version of any of these beers (have had cellared regular rasputing/dark lord/expedition stout), or any other big stouts that have already been barrel aged. Just want to make sure I don't waste a good beer

Under what conditions are these being cellar'd? I've been buying and storing beer since 2005, and I now keep anything under 9% alcohol in the fridge immediately. I've had some unfortunate issues with oxidation from too long at room temperature, and won't make that mistake again.

But I agree with 2beer completely, and wouldn't wait much longer on the Raspy XII (I have one in the fridge as well).

Basement, in a 750ml bottle case. Stays around 55 in the winter and 60 in the summer where I keep the closed boxes

I'd crack the PVW DL open. Likely, you probably haven't had it. It's great. Will it get greater? I dunno, but no reason to assume it will.

BN is good, but being in Indiana you've probably got some opportunity to try this at tap takeovers (or by coming to MBG beerfests).

Raspy 12 is drinking pretty good, at least last time I had it earlier in the summer. A couple months before that, I had 11 and 12 together and thought 12 tasted much better. The 14 - drink the 12 and let that guide you.

IMO Eclipse beers are best fresher vs. non-fresher.

Open the ole Raspy XIV and put it in rolly polly stemless wine glasses. My woman rolled these over and spilled it all last new years.
