It was released earlier than today, at least up here in Boone. Hit stores here Friday I think.

Oh thats not bad at all. Cheaper than expected. Probably a little more in the Triangle but hopefully not by much.

Be prepared to be majorly disappointed. So much thinner than the draft only versions from last year or the year before. It's not bad as an imperial milk stout goes but I couldn't find much cinnamon or vanilla. Maybe some raisin but nothing like what I remember this beer tasted like before. I got mine Saturday at Bruisin Ales. The line at the funkatorium was bonkers!!!

The line at the funkatorium was probably for Angel of Darkness or Chocolate Covered Black Angel, not Milk & Cookies. Especially since the brewpub had all the Milk & Cookies you could want with no line

Was $6.49 at Peabody's I'm fairly certain. The brewpub price is $5.99 or $5.50 if you purchase a case.

Odd year for me... two of my favorites, Cold Mountain and Milk & Cookies Stout seemed a bit thinned out from previous years.... Thinned out or, smoother? Not as much pizzaz maybe but easier drinking. Anyway. Just thought I'd toss out my 2c.

Go in with an open mind. I haven't had it either, but will be on the lookout for it this week.

Oh yeah forgot about that one. I don't see myself shelling out for either of the two sours, but will definitely give M&C a try.

I would think that one will. Would expect to see it on tap everywhere soon too.

Had M&C at the Angel release with huge excitement cause I had the previous batches on tap. Came away super disappointed. I found it lacked the sweetness of past batches that really helped emphasize the milk portion. The spices were there but I got more of a roast and it was not the nostalgia inducing beer I had in past years.

Couldn't get over the cardamom flavor (could've been nutmeg or combo of spices with the raisins).

It's decent. About like I'd expect a milk stout to be. At the abv level it is though I would probably expect a little more flavor wise. GBS for instance is a little thicker and has a richer flavor and nose. For $5.50 a bottle though I'm not disappointed.

Hardywood gingerbread stout out of Virginia. It's a top notch example of the style though. It blew me away.

thats what I thought. I have a bottle in my pantry. Will probably open it New Years weekend. I'll be in Tampa for Christmas and a heavy spiced stout doesn't sound great in 80+ degrees.

But I did have it at the brewery. It's so good.

Coming from someone that never had the original, I thought this was great. I can't imagine someone not liking it and would recommend buying, especially at 6 bucks per bottle.

Milk and Cookies is quite disappointing compared to last years. :slight_frown:

And what's with Wicked Weed charging more at the brewery for Chocolate Angel compared to bottle shops? My shop has it for $16.99 a bottle. :slight_frown:

It was $15.99 at the place I normally go. Their sour bottles are always a little less in distro than they are there. Even in Asheville the shops generally have them for at least a buck less.

Got this yesterday for $6.99 at Fermental in Ogden.

I really enjoyed it. Really good cookie after tasted. The only thing I would say is that if it had been on nitro it would have been amazing in my opinion.

We all know wide distribution knocks a few points off of any beer's score. I had it today and quite enjoyed it. It didn't blow my mind but I thought it well represented what they were going for.
