She is heading there this weekend coming up. I'm in Cali. What should I have her pick up? I'm open for anthing that's new and I can't get here. Suggestions would be great guys. Thanks in advance!
Based on what beers can/bottle in that (I think) you can get in that area for TX beer: Jester King (?) Karbach Hops and Grain (but just their standard stuff) Adelberts Saint Arnolds (focus on Bishop Barrel and Icon series) Rogness I honestly do not know what sells in Houston as opposed to Austin. So I do not know what DFW beers get down there - if they do, grab some Deep Ellum as well.
Stuff that should be available (and I think is good): Jester King (the last 2 are harder to find as Specs is the largest retailer, but holds everything but a few beers at their downtown location): Mad Meg El Cedro Das Wunderkind Das Uberkind Saint Arnold: Endeavour (check bottle date! 5/17 is the latest) Icon Green (4 pack) Hops and Grain: The One Called Zoe (6 pack, not available everywhere) Karbach: Hopadillo (6 pack) Weiss Versa (6 pack) Buffalo Bayou: More Cowbell DIPA Real Ale: Sisyphus (4 pack) If you don't get Boulevard, then look for Saison Brett that was just released.
Founders Double Trouble Sixpoint Resin Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout (may still be around) ...as far as national brands worth a look.
I also meant to ask what area she'd be in. Might help with the beer hunt if we could give location ideas.
Thanks a lot guys !!! I really really appreciate it. Sorry I don't know what part of Houston she is going to be in. Once ill find out ill update. Once again thank you guys !!!
Yeah these guys hit it on point. If she can find Jester King's CENSORED (aka Salt Lick), get a couple. Its brewed with pecans from the great Salt Lick BBQ outside of Austin. CENSORED should be everywhere right now, but best bets are at Specs Downtown, Growlers Montrose, or HEBs carrying the JK's.
I would add Karbach Roshambo. It's not a Belgian IPA as stated on the label but it's a good IPA. Big citrus flavors.
