I'll be in Milwaukee in two weeks an am planning on heading south to Illinois to hit some more beer stores. In your opinion, what shops have the best selection in Illinois that are relatively close (with in 30ish minutes) to the state line. Looking for some Palo Santo specifically but stores with a wide american craft and Belgian selection are important.

Antioch Liquor and Binny's In Highland Park would be my two stops.

Although those stores are pretty far apart. The Mchenry Binnys is closer to Antioch but it is not as good as most of the others. Binny's Buffalo Grove is another option as you would just take Rt 83 all the way there. Actually, that reminded me of Dicarlo in Mundelein which would be much closer to Antioch: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/11399

Definitely Antioch Liquors (83 & 173) - you could also stop at the Woodmans in Kenosha on the way down, and Foremost just north of 120 off rt 45 (in Grayslake) now has a very impressive selection too.
