That's pretty awesome. Ironically enough, I for the most part stopped eating red meat and pork, so that I could drink more beer and not worry about it.

I marinate with different beers often, but also use goopy sauces with ribs, chicken, various seafood, roasts of all kinds, and grill often. Perhaps over a lifetime these practices will kill me, but I'm still alive, fairly healthy, got a good number of years stored up, and this pleasure of going Neanderthal in my backyard probably helps with my sanity, total health, and family unity. I also put salt in my coffee and eat butter like yogurt- well that's not entirely true. Cheers.

Without grilled meat and beer I might as well change back into stardust.

Question would be is what did the author mean by black/dark beer? Way too ambiguous...

Some people still think in brooooaaaaad categories when they're thinking about beer.

Will read the full paper when i get to work tomorrow (I have ACS journal access there). Presumably the experimental procedure writeup will reveal what the 3 beers (Pilsner, NA pilsner, and "black beer") actually were.

I cook barbecue in beer. Does that count?

It does not. Only additional information provided is the ABVs of the beers (5% for the black beer, I think 5.2% for the pilsener), their ingredients (nothing unordinary), and that all the beers were purchased from a grocery store.

Wait, the scientists wasted beer and grilled meat on lab animals? Sign me up. Like I needed another reason to grill and drink.

I'll keep the beer and the BBQ separate until it all goes into my belly. Thanks.

    Waste of beer.

Bizarre. They describe every piece of lab equipment they used by manufacturer, model number, and country of manufacture, but they didn't think that the beers used were equally if not more significant to the results? Go figure...
