Wrong beer in case

I purchased a case of Michelob Ultra Pure Gold Organic Light Lager cans, and one of the cans inside was a Corona Premier. Are the two beers packaged in the same facility that they got mixed up? I couldn’t find anything that says they are or are not. I am concerned about drinking the beer and wondering if it was tampered with. Anyone ever ran into this or feel I should be concerned?

Was the case properly glued/sealed or was it taped?

    That is fantastic!!

I can't wait to hear from the retailer/distributer/packager/brewer/
    owner/board of directors/barber/con man.

Kinda like finding an onion ring mixed in with your fries?

I'd contact the Michelob customer service folks and report it as possible tampering. Let them tell you whether you should be concerned. Certainly they would know if these two beers are packaged at the same facility. And I think they would really like to investigate it since tampering after packaging could be involved here if these beers are not packaged at the same facility.

@LucyB - This could have happened at the distributor. If product is received damaged (packages or bottles/cans do show up broken or are damaged during storage), the non damaged product will be repackaged by the distributor to the extent it can be. This would be my guess, assuming your local Michelob distributor also sells Corona. Still wouldn't hurt to check in!

A Mexican beer hiding in a case of American organic light beer? Sounds like a beer smuggling ring....

    I'd notify ICE....BUD ICE.

I didn't expect to comment on this, but I would probably take it back to the store if it had happened to me.

I always eat the rogue onion ring. Do the same with the beer and report back. If we never hear from OP again, we'll know it was tampering. The power of science compels you.

Did you ever get one of those rogue onion rings with the band aid on it?

I found a really nice doubleheaded screwdriver in a sealed 18 pack of bottles one time like ten years ago

The two beers are not brewed or packaged in the same brewery BUT it is possible both companies buy their cans from the same manufacturer and a stray Corona Premium can made it into an Anheuser-Busch shipment. Not sure if the "lids" on the AB or Corona cans are embossed with the brewery name - that'd be one hint. And I'd look on the bottom for the dating - if it's the same as on the Michelob cans, that'd answer your question. Can lines in large breweries are fast - 2000 cans per minute IIRC - and though there are systems for finding damaged or low-fill cans, a wrong can might get through.

Pretty hard to tamper with a sealed beer can inside a factory sealed case. And if someone was trying to tamper with a beer, why would they do it with a can of the wrong beer?

Exactly. The Corona just may be an improvement, but I'll reserve judgement.

I wouldn’t sweat it being cans, there’s no way to tamper with it, if it was a bottle I’d bring it back to where I bought it.

Have not, but that's kind of what I envision that Rogue Sriracha beer tasting like.

As stated, being cans, tampering would not seem to be a concern. I would agree that it is a mabufacturing line can foulup. Drink it, it's probably Michelob hiding in a Corona can.

Serves you right for buying that schwill /s

But really, you joined BA just to ask this? Return to where you bought it, or move on. Why did you expect strangers on the internet would be able to help you, with this "situation"?

Just drink that one last when everything tastes the same. That's kind of weird but as long as the cans are sealed there's nothing wrong with them.

Yeah my first thought was "you may not even notice". But you gotta contact Michelob, cause you might just get a t shirt out of this.

Could have happened anywhere between where the can were printed and the retailer.
