Steel reserve. 40oz for around $3 and it's like 8.5%. Get it while it's cold.

If speed is a concern, I'll mix an Old Fashioned.

If I'm sticking with beer, the Whole Foods near my office sells Three Philosophers for $6.50/ bomber (almost feels like stealing at that price). One of those is enough to put me in a very festive mood.

I honestly hate having a buzz but while we are talking cheap, probably Huber Bock, Point, or PBR.

Smirnoff Vanilla and diet cola. A handle of that stuff only runs a little over $20. Much better cost- and calorie-wise if I feel like getting a buzz on. Drinking shite beer just to get wasted is incredibly inefficient.

Cheap buzz for me is doing 60 minutes of hardcore cardio and then drinking just one beer. Cheaper buzz than drinking several.

Terrapin Hopsecutioner or whatever their other high-gravs are at the moment. In Athens, GA we pre-game at the brewery. $10 for a logo glass and 8 quarter pours of your choice. Except if you wink/tip/aren't a general douche to the volunteers at the bars, you'll end up with more like 8 half pours and there is always a few people looking to give away some of their beer.

I love getting my visiting friends drunk there before 8 PM.

If I can't make it there, Kilian's Irish Red isn't bad, especially when it's on sale at Kroger. Or Sweet Water 420 when it's on tap at the bottle shop for $12/gallon.

all beer is a quick cheap buzz for me, because I limit my 6 pack price to 8 dollars or less, anymore and I do not buy it period. no bombers ever. of course that is stay at home prices...

of course if its buzz you want I do a chaser of good whiskey, but its not that cheap....

I like to step it up to OE High Gravity personally, but either way you can't go wrong.

King Cobra is not a bad option either.

on an empty stomach, post cardio session.....almost anything will give me a buzz. last week i had a bottle of pliny in about a half hour and i had a real nice buzz going.

after i've eaten, its gonna be whiskey because beer won't buzz me unless i abuse it. and who wants to do that?

It certainly is well-made, but around here it's $7.99 a 6pk; very reasonable for NY standards
