I have a pilsner glass that I swear every beer that I have just tastes better in it.Is it me or do some of you have that same reaction despite the recommendations to drink certain styles in certain glassware.

My favorite is any glass that's clean.

I drink almost all my beers out of a New Belgium Glass that Gives globe. I never really bought into the proper glass for style thing until I got this glass. While it's not the right one for many styles I do love my IPAs from this glass and it works reasonable well for all the other styles. The pint glass is dead to me and I hate when that is all bars have.

A friend has the SN/Spieglau IPA glasses and those are pretty awesome too but I don't think as versatile as the NBB Globe.

Wine glasses with shorter, thicker stems, sort akin to tulips but without the big flare. Already have them on hand, cheap/easy to replace. Not a fan of the teku glass, I'll tell you that much -- not sturdy enough for me.

If you don't think glassware makes a difference you are cheating yourself. Would you drink a great aromatic pinot noir from a rocks glass?

    I have 3:

I know a lot of people will disagree, but I really like the taste of an IPA (or low abv DIPA) out of a pint glass.

For stouts and really high abv beers, I go with my Bourbon County snifter, which is probably my favorite glass.

For almost everything else, I use my tulip glass; if I only had one glass to drink beer from, it would be my tulip, since it works for so many styles, and does them well.

I have two snifters that I do most of my drinking out of. I do like to put really aromatic citrusy IPAs into my Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass thing, it's really my favorite glass, but I don't use it all that much for fear of breaking it!

This is not my picture, but I think it's a really nice one of my favorite glass!

Admitedly I enjoy the beautifully pretentious teku glass- it really is a damn great shape. But for the most part, I use snifters. I don't have a particular go-to because I enjoy the whole ritual of glass selection (using nerdy matching logo'd glass when possible).

This for me as well. I have two of the New Belgium globes that I use for the majority of my beers. I'll occasionally drink an IPA out of my DFH IPA glass, but I find it to be kind of awkward and top heavy...although it does look cool as hell.

Yeah I have a couple of those. Use them (and my Spieglau) for pretty much everything. I think the HF glasses are pretty sturdy

I have to say the Snifter located in my profile pic (displaying Founders Curmudgeon Ale there), has to be my favorite style of glassware. It isn't too big, where if I'm just pouring a 12oz bottle it can look ridiculous in a 16oz + size glassware, plus everything looks gorgeous in it, and it's just simply majestic feeling to drink out of it.
Though I have a variety of glassware to choose from, and generally try and match them up accordingly depending on the brew that's being drank. Just personal preference, I have all the varying choices, why not use them?

    • That's called a Wiiliebecker pint (I probably didn't spell that right, though.) We use those exclusively for pints at my job, but they're actually 500 mL. Can't say they work that much better than a shaker pint but they seem to have better head retention.

I have a small victory tasting glass that I just love and I can drink any beer in it but I seldom use it for lagers. The pilsner glass is like the champagne flute of beer glasses. I just love it and I love to break it out and use it often. Between those and the sam adams pint glass and my trusty tulip I have IPA's covered. Now for belgians I have my ommegang oversize wine glass and I like that one very much too.

I would say my snifters. Got 4 never used and handed down to me. All I know is they a freakishly thin, every beer looks fantastic in them and my father thinks they came from Germany. All I know is I use them everyday, I'm very careful with them and I love them.
