Hard to remember, maybe it was Leffe. I remember trying that early into my experiments with beer and hating it. Maybe a pilsner, I've tried several times to like pilsners and have failed each time. Could have been Labyrinth. I know it's a high rated beer but licorice is not my flavor.

So I'm usually one to power through a beer I don't like, but I had to drain pour a bottle of Orval. I was really excited for this beer and am assuming it was infected or something. Tasted like latex and bandaids.

I can't wait until a brewery names a beer Drain Pour.

Tonight had to force myself to finish my Cuvee Freddy. Badly wanted to pour it. Followed it with a Wake-n-Bake and I still have some remnants of the astringent vinegar in the back of my throat.

Don't give up on it yet. My best pal (and fellow beer geek) both loved this one.

Funky Jewbelation. The description makes it sound sooooo good. I should've drank the label instead.

Not my first drain pour, but my second and only other drain pour was a Rogue Double Dead Guy Ale. It probably tasted closer like an actual dead guy than it did beer.

Yep, me too one sip and straight down the sink of my brussels hotel room.

The only beers I can recall drainpouring are Wild Blue, Smutty Nose Wheat Wine, a bad bottle of Fleur, a bad bottle of Palo Santo Marron, New Belgium Cascara Quad, and Guinness Extra. I still haven't finished the last few ounces of Triple Bock, it's sitting in a deserted corner of the basement....not sure if that counts.

a six pack sampler of hub city beers, only the pale ales survived, just barely. the amber, wheat, and brown ales all were poured down the sink, which to get back at me, clogged itself up a few days later.

Totally agree! I can't believe the guy that owns the growler shop down the road from me said KBBA is his top seller!

I'm not a fan of the traditional Flander's Red. Too sweet & vinagery up front. Not bad, I just prefer other sours.

Agreed on Founders Devil Dancer 2011 having onion flavor.

Two years on, that 2011 DD ended up being really tasty.

Recently the Great River Brewery Dirty Blonde Chocolate Ale. It was free but tasted terrible.

I've had some beers that are oxidized and just terrible, including like 3 year old summer beers that people have found in their basements and stuff, but the first beer that I drain poured because I just couldn't stand it was Sam Adams Dark Depths.

mine was actually a pretty traumatic moment...it was my first mix-six when I turned 21 and one of the beers was a Leine's Berry Weiss. I was shocked a beer could actually be that bad. Two sips and it was down the drain. I couldn't even pawn it off on someone else.
