Founders CBS 4.83. I knew it when I tasted it, it is a truly amazing beer!
I have had an emotional reaction to three beers, and 1 was a long time ago. Two however, were recent and repeated, so I put more stock in them. Yes, one is Heady Topper. I've had lots of it over the past few years and it remains my favorite IPA of any type. The other is Everett Porter. My expectations were already so high that when I actually tasted the beer and it shattered them I truly could not believe it.
Pipeworks Brewing Company
American Double / Imperial IPA 4.96
Gale's Prize Old Ale 2006
Like a naked romp with Brigitte Bardot circa 1958.
4 Hands Madagascar at 4.81....
FBS is my #1 and has been in that slot for almost my entire time on BA.
Not even gonna look 'cause I know it's Tripel Karmelite. And if for some reason it's not, I'm gonna fix that.
Noble Nelson Showers is my highest rated beer on here and probably close to my highest rated beer period.
Victory at Sea.
But I'm a dilettante.
Three way tie.

Pseudo Sue 5!!! I apologize to no one! Pure perfection!
Heady Topper with no looking back...
Yellow Rose from the Lone Pint in Texas I rated at 4.91, my highest rating.
Anchor Steam is my only 5.
Maine Dinner 4.75
The Abyss at 4.84, it was fresh from a keg that was tapped that day. Brought home a growler sat outside in front of the fire listening to good music. At that time I had never been happier drinking a beer by myself. In review of my ratings it appears that I may have a bias for beers from tap over beers from a bottle.
Hill Farmstead - Everett .. bottle not on tap
Founders - Breakfast Stout
Hill Farmstead Arthur 5
Only one 5 ever (on another site) - Trappistes Rochefort 10
Lawson's Double Sunshine DIPA at 4.72 is my highest. The appearance knocked this down a bit. I haven't given a 5 yet after almost 1400 reviews. I'm not opposed to doing so though, and in fact, I sure hope it happens.
1. De Struise - Cuvee Delphine AKA Truth Can Set You Free (4 Roses barrel aged Black Albert) 4.93
I've bought 7 or 8 of these, and they're so damn good. Fairly available, so go get yourself one, you won't be let down!
2. Mooi & Meedogenloos
4. Hel & Verdoemenis
5. Biggie Smalls
If i ever get my hand on Black Damnation (the original one), it would probably be my #1 since it's more or less two of my favorite beers mixed (Black Albert, and Hel & Verdoemenis). But who knows, that might be a terrible combination. If anyone wants to help me find out... that would be killer.
Rodenbach charactere rouge
Great lakes chillwave
I don't review beers on this site, but I do reviews on paper at home. They're mainly just for reference and a few of my friends who are just getting in to craft beer. I score based on my personal preference, not the style. Appearance is scored 1-10, aroma 1-30, taste 1-40, overall experience (wow factor) 1-20. About a third of my reviews are blind, and my wife will tell me what it was after the review. I've only reviewed about 90 beers so far, but here are my top 5.
Odell Myrcenary (96)
Stone Enjoy By 12.26.14 (95)
Lagunitas Sucks (94)
Founders Backwoods Bastard (93)
Founders CBS (93)
So this will completely reveal my fan boy status of Stone but.... it's a tie between:
Stone Double Bastard
Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale
Stone Arrogant Bastard Ale
Stone Stone Imperial Russian Stout
So yeah. There it is.
FBS - 4.89
Victory at Sea - 4.69
Allagash White - 4.65
Stone/Chris Banker/Insurgente Xocoveza--5
Stone Coffee Milk Stout--5
Bourbon County Brand Prop 2013! When I drank it their were small pieces of coconut in it...so good! Also it was aged for a year.
I have only rated a few beers so far, i am newer to the site. I rated kern citra at 4.9, and fuzzy baby ducks at 4.88. I think i might be rating a little high, because at this rate i will probably giving out alot of 5s to stuff like focal, dinner, alpine nelson, trillium ipas...so many damn near perfect IPAs available these days!
1. Good Morning
2. Double Sunshine
My highest w/ a quick rating is Chez Monus at 5. My highest w/ a full review is Double Barrel Damon at 4.96 (Bourbon Vanilla Bean Dark Lord is right behind at 4.95).
Prairie Coolship Truck coming in at a cool 4.99. I'm excluding all of the 5s I had rated prior to the current rating system.
Before the rating system was changed I had ranked 3 different beers a 5 overall - Firestone 17, KBS and Heady
Since the rating system changed to rating by attributes - Sculpin, BBA IBB and Melange 1
Founders Breakfast Stout. Considering how easy it is to find I'm happy that what I think is closest to perfection is readily available.
FFF Permanent Funeral - 5.00
Zombie Dust is knocking at the door of perfection- 4.99
Pseudo sue and prop are by far the winners for me!
Completely agree. Vanilla Rye close for me.
BCBCS, BCBS and 077xx at 4.75.
