I don't think there will be any major releases in the next 8 days, so why not start another one of these. This is my list of 11 best beer drinking experiences this year. Feel free to add your own list.

    11. Velvet Merkin at Brouwerij Lane- So glad they got a sixtel of this in so I could try this wonderful BA'd version of this wonderful oatmeal stout

    10. Blackwoods Blastard at Founders- visited the brewery and got to try this delicious one off that was left over from the Black Party. Delicious beer at a wonderful brewery.

    9. Abyss on tap at Whole Foods in AZ- got to meet an Arizona BA and share my first taste of this wonderful stuff at, of all places, Whole Foods.

    8. LeBleu in parking lot of Ithaca brewery- I got shut out at this release, but was lucky enough to meet some kind strangers who shared a bottle of the previous batch with me and a fellow from Syracuse who also got shut out.

    7. White Raja on tap at Brew Kettle- visited while a trip to see family and was blown away by a local upstart.

    6. Sampling fresh Daisy Cutter at Half Acre- to think that I used to live 3 blocks from where this brewery is, makes me wanna move back.

    5. Twilight of the Idols on tap at Sunswick 35/35- so nice to enjoy this Hill Farmstead winter warmer in the chill of last February. I really hope a few kegs make their way down to my local watering hole again in '13.

    4. Beatification at BCS vertical tasting- had a wonderful 06-11 tasting this summer with brooklynbrews and a few other friends. I brought the lone bottle I got this year through a trade. It was so wonderful and a welcome break from the Bourbon County vert. Maybe the best sour I have ever had.

    3. Fou Foune at Alewife NYC-I caught the tail end of a Belgian event and enjoyed a glass of this and some classic Gueze. It was a nice surprise at one of my favorite spots in the city.

    2. Two Brothers Askew from DiCicco's- hidden treasure of the year, I probably got about 6 bottles of this delicious stuff and only have one left.

    1. Zombie Dust from the brewery- I stopped by the brewery on the day after Darklord Day to buy some Zombie Dust and Gumballhead. They had sold out of ZD a few minutes before I got there, but I was lucky enough to find a kind soul loading his car with much ZD trade me a sixer for a sixer of Gumballhead.

I was on a hiatus for most of the year from trading/buying and only opened older bottles at tastings, so I've yet to try most new releases. But here are the five I have or have coming from 2012 that I'm most excited about drinking:

    HF Juicy
    Jackie O's Oaky Golden Pucker
    Jackie O's Pappy Skipping Stone
    SNR 10

Also GBS and bourbon GBS and Quadrawine and the 1st anniversary ale from Hardyoowd, cognac imperial sweet stout, cherry rye BCBS, upright fantastia and apricot seven and some other upright stuff, etc. I guess I'm going to spend the next few months drinking the beers everyone else already tried this year, hah.

EDIT: Oh, I guess Sang Noir was released this year right? Or was it 2011? Either way that beer is awesome.

This was my first full year of craft. I think I started drinking Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in November last year. So pretty much all of the 100+ beers on my tick list came this year.

What a fucking exciting year it's been. So with that said, my list is beers that I discovered this year, and in the case of number two, today.
