It was one of the special releases at the last Southampton RIS release. The alcohol is 6% in the imperial as opposed to the 2% in the normal.

I had a lot of beers that were new to me but not new in general that I rated very highly (Jai Alai IPA, Speedway Stout and others) but I have only included "new" (i.e. released in 2012) beers on my list.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

I thought this year's Bligh's Barleywine was outstanding and I'm sure it will get even better with some age.

Not as adventuresome or far ranging as some....but I truly loved each of these.

    Founders CBS
    Three Floyds Dreadnaught
    Founders Breakfast Stout
    Smuttynose Baltic Porter
    Smuttynose Imperial Stout
    Deschutes The Abyss

Had Hill Farmstead Susan at tasting near year end....right there with Zombie Dust among 'clear beers'

    Hope everyone has a:
    - peaceful holiday season
    - enjoyable and diverse NY Eve tasting
    - a 2013 full of delightful, tasty beers!

Phantom Canyon - Winston Smith (Templeton Rye barrel) Hidden gem in Colorado Springs
Societe - The Pupil (Took the damn bus from Downtown SD and its was well worth the ghetto transport to get there. Highlight of the bus ride was the guy sitting in front of me reading 50 Shades of Grey while blasting techno in his headphones.)
Dry Dock - Bligh's (Becoming a Colorado staple)
Avery - Uncle Jacob's (18% abv of goodness)
Bruery - Chocolate Rain (Cocoa Puff beer)
*Also got to try a Bruery Black Tuesday and White Chocolate black and tan that was ridiculous.
