@JackHorzempa i've had it and did not think it had a watery mouthfeel, like some/most session IPAs. Just my opinion.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts once you've had the chance to try it. I enjoyed it very much.

Always loved their Lord Chesterfield Ale, Pottsville Porter and Bock, when it was available. Nothing earthshaking, just good solid brews at an affordable price.

I'm sure it'll have corn grits. Everything they offer does.
I personally would rather see them offer a higher hopped dark lager (their porter isn't an ale except in their own imaginations).

I will definitely be giving this a go. Lager was my go to when I was younger, Summer Wheat was surprisingly good and you just can't beat the price, and I revisited Black & Tan recently after not having it for many years and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I thought the Summer Wheat was WAY better than what I was expecting. I think their Porter, Lord Chesterfield & Oktoberfest are great @ that price point. I'd buy Yuengling before Lienenkugels which is overpriced for the vast line up of subpar clunkers they put out.

I give love to Lord Chesterfield and The Summer Wheat. Just think there are a lot better options out there that are also affordable.

Tried this one a few weeks ago at an Oktoberfest. I had high hopes for an finding a decent IPL since the last one I tried (Leinenkugle) was pretty skanky. Unfortunately this one was only marginally better. Lacked the clarity that I was looking for, similiar to your neighbors home brew that didn't go quite right. Yuengling hasn't had a lot of home runs beyond their main staple, Lager. Has anyone done a decent IPL?

Check out the video from Dick Yuengling: "None of that hoppy stuff in my beer!"

I was really looking forward to this after their summer wheat was a fantastic deviation from their otherwise meh lineup.

It had a nice hoppy aroma and lingering bitterness but the flavor profile is a forgettable flatline... Very interesting how they captured the essence of hops in aroma and bitterness but completely whiffed/skipped the flavor hop additions.

I saw the list of hops they used and honestly, why bother? Its not like any of them are identifiable. If you buy this expecting Jack's Abbey you are gonna be disappointed. However, at $22 a case its something i might keep in the fridge to offer friends/family who are yuengling fans but not adventurous to buy it themselves.

I'm guessing my local Kroger has this in storage and wants to put it out on shelves pretty soon -- they'd marked down the remaining Yuengling Oktoberfest six-packs to $5.99 last week, and I just saw them marked down even further to $4.99 (!) when I was in there for a bit today. Yep, that's Yuengling Oktoberfest for cheaper than the price that store sells Miller High Life for... if only my fridge wasn't so full of beer already I would definitely be grabbing another one for that price.

This was OK. Nice body, but definitely adjunct. The base was very much like Lord Chesterfield. Not much hop aroma, either, although I'm not surprised - keeping costs low seems to be their thing.

It was a bit harshly bitter up front, but it does open up some nice hop flavors towards the middle and end. Finishes nicely. I think they could tweak this more towards flavoring and less towards bittering and have a nice product. But I wouldn't get it again - I'll stick to Chetty for my Yuengling fix.

This isn't bad. Not my cup of tea but I wouldn't knock it or pass over it if its the only thing on draft.

just picked up my second case of it tonight. i love the beer for what it is, an inexpensive american lager with a moderate hop flavor and smooth body. at only $22 a case i plan on buying more for those session nights or when i have visitors.

Why does the press release sound like they invented this hybrid style?

I tried it last night and enjoyed it...for the price point. There are definitely other things I will grab before this but it's definitely a good option under the right circumstances.

TW Tampa web site shows in stock - $6.99/6. They'll have to get that highway finished before I hit TW or CCB. But if TW has it, it is in dist.
