Zwanze Day 2015 Locations (Sep 19, 2015)

I'll be in Denver 9/19, so I am obviously hitting up Crooked Stave.

 

Are the lines out the door at these bars?

 

Has anyone heard which Cantillon beers will be on tap at the Iowa event??

 

The Portland, ME event is great. The line starts a little early, but not at the crack of dawn. Novare Res puts on a great event and knows what their doing.

 

There are definitely lines. What time the line generally starts forming depends on what city and what bar you go to.

 

As an fyi, their facebook now says the following for Osaka:

"Little change for one location in Japan : in Osaka, the location that will welcome the Zwanze Day will be Dolphin's Higobashi and not Dolphin's Umeda."

For the NY crowd, is lining up at around 10-10:30 for a noon opening pretty standard? From Spuyten Duyvil's Facebook page last year this appeared to be the timeline (with a 3pm tap) but was just curious what people's first-hand accounts have been.

 

A big fuck you goes out to WLV for turning one of the most laid back Zwanze locations into a complete shit show. Thank you.

 

If you get there at 10, you will likely get a Zwanze ticket, but will 100% miss the bottles (which is okay, because only like the first 15 people in line will get so lucky anyways), and you might get a draft or two of whatever else they tap. I believe the Lou Pepe Kriek 2008 keg sold out by 1 PM last year. I think they opened at 11 for Zwanze Day though.

My group of 3 arrived a little after 9 AM and were about 15th in line. The first 3-4 people in line bought all the initial bottles. They brought out some warm ones after that and those were all gone by the time the group behind us got to the bar. The line was all the way down the block by the time they opened the doors. It took a little over an hour from opening I'd say for the entire line to get inside.

 

How so?

 

Maybe they got a sense it was going to be a shit show no matter what based on feedback, so at least now they want it to be a more controlled shit show??? Just speculation on my point, but I sure did like your explanation of the prior Zwanze Day experience. This will be my first go round, so I'm hoping to get in there, but it won't ruin my day if I don't.

 

Anyone go to the Orlando event last year?

 

Seems they switched to pre sale tickets this year. I really don't know why. I'm sure the price will get jacked up too.

I tried asking on FB the other day, but no answer. They make the announcement on their page and then you call in for them to hold at will call. My assumption is end of the month.

 

Anyone know if Hill Farmstead hosted in 2014?
