Dag van de Lambik - Day of the Lambic

Going: 3 | Watching: 0 | Invited: 0
On Saturday 12 December 2009 The House of Gueuze organises in the pub 'In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst' (In the Insurance against Large Thirst) the 2nd Day of the Lambic. The theme is the art of brewing lambic and the arts surrounding the lambic culture. In lambico artes.

Most people don't not know anymore what lambic is. Therefore, we want to put the oldest (still existing) beer in the world in the spotlight. Not that long ago, there were only beers of spontaneous fermentation. Lagers and high fermentation beers are of a much more recent date.

More than 15 different (unblended) lambics (joenk, old lambic, kriekenlambic,...) from 9 breweries (Boon, Cantillon, De Troch, 3 Fonteinen, Girardin, Lindemans, Mort Subite, Oud Beersel en Timmermans) will be presented. It is quite unusual that one can taste so many genuine lambics in one place.

The tasting event takes place from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and is followed by a genuine café chantant.

If you want to take some lambic beers home with you, don't forget to place an order via www.thehouseofgueuze.be.
