Be it fresh or toasted oak, American or French, bourbon or wine-soaked, aged for months or years, or all funked up with wild yeast and bacteria, there's just something mysterious and magical about introducing beer to wood. To celebrate this union, we're hosting Beer Meets Wood on Saturday, September 23 at 58 Fore Street in Portland, Maine. Sponsored by Allagash Brewing Company.

Beer Meets Wood, a one-day, two-session festival, is set to be the largest collection of wood-aged beers on the East Coast. Attendees will be able to try over 200 beers from 20 states and Belgium. And among the more than 50 acclaimed breweries in attendance will be those like Rodenbach, which was founded in 1836 and has a long history of working with beer and wood, as well as upstarts such as Kings County Brewers Collective, which only opened its doors last year.
