Q: How do your ratings work?

Learn more about our ratings.

Q: How are these lists generated?

Using a proprietary Bayesian-based formula that takes the number of ratings into consideration by applying a weighted rank or rating (WR) behind the scenes. Basically, if a beer has a 4.5 average and over 2,500 ratings it should rank higher than a beer with a 4.75 and less than 100 ratings.

Q: Why are the averages (Avg) not in order?

Beers are ordered by their WR (see above). The averages and number of ratings are displayed for reference purposes.

Q: Why isn't <insert beer> listed? That's just wrong!

Maybe it's retired? Maybe it didn't make the cut? If the latter, did you rate or review the beer? If not, then you have even less to complain about.
