This is a good brewpub in a town not known for great beer. It's a small-ish place that is nicely decorated. The beers were all good or really good. Service was good. It was quite crowded but I was seated quickly and service was swift. The food was good although some of their side dishes are a bit odd.

Was looking forward to visit here the whole week leading up to my SF trip. Definitely met my expectations. Great beer and all served at the proper temperatures. OK prices, but if you consider that you're in SF the prices are really reasonable for the quality and selection of the beer. Got a few Spontan series beers and tried a few other guest taps which were all exceptional. A must visit if you are in SOMA.

Started our one night Cleveland pub crawl right here (very convenient to our downtown hotel). Pretty busy for a no-ball-game Wednesday on the 4th Street strip but we got right in. They had around 15 taps of their own beer available with a fairly typical non-destination brewery mix of IPAs, lagers, saisons, etc. Decent stuff - I especially liked their most adventurous offering which was a wine barrel aged Bierre de Miel. Had some really nice Charcuterie choices which paired well with the beer.

Visited La Bodega on a recent trip to Anchorage. Great selection. I was looking for a rare beer that they did not have and the clerk directed me to another store that actually had what I was looking for. The clerk was very knowledgeable of his selections and beers in general.

The best brewery location i have ever been to by far. Too good to last. Beautiful farm with great family
,farm, and music atmosphere. Really like a beer/wine park. Lots of families with young kids and bringing thier 90 year olds too to be somewhere nice.great music too.
The winery set this place up but the beer guys look to be successful after only 6 weeks open. Only 4 beers available at a time but 1-2 of them at any given time are 4.0 +. Tangerine kolsch, dipa, imperal stout great lately.
Service wise and atmosphere again its great. Something about a really busy site brings out the best in people.

Haze Smokehouse

The place is pretty new and looks nice, clean decor with a bar up front, dining room in back and an outdoor patio. Some assorted framed photos of southern BBQ landmarks and blues musicians, which reminds me, they host a lot of live music shows here.

They touted local beers on their social media, but when I got there, they only had one Tangled Roots tap and I apparently got the last Radium City bomber. Other than that the selection was slim, I think they maybe had Anti-Hero, and Daisy Cutter was also on tap. Other than those, there was mostly macros. Bring in some craft already...

Service was good, a young attentive kid that came by at least 4 times. Too young to be beer savvy, but he tried hard. I asked which Radium City beer they had, and he went to ask, then came back and said it's "Bomber". Turns out it was an india red ale in a bomber format. No worries. He said he would comp half price on an app ordered without the meat, though it was full price when the bill came. I chalk it up to simply being green, not a big deal.

Now the best part about Haze, the food. I tried a sampler of 4 smoked meats, and the ribs, brisket and hot links were all very good. Chicken was ok, not a lot of seasoning. Fried green tomatoes were flavorful, cornbread muffins were great. Pulled pork was a little dry and less smoky/seasoned than the ribs. The desserts looked amazing (peanut butter pie), and the smoked veggie kebab stole the show, even up against the smoked meats. Heresy, I know. But seriously, get a couple kebabs if you go.

Overall we had a nice time here, and i'd return for some BBQ if visiting the state parks nearby.

Located in a nondescript strip mall in the middle of town. The sign in the jewelry store next door reads "you're getting a six pack, but what is she getting?" above a photo of a glamorous jewelry-clad woman. Now that's some targeted advertising...

Inside and down the beer aisle, it seemed deceptively small at first, until you turn the corner and there's a bunch more stuff. Heavy emphasis on singles, most things available in 4/6 packs are readily available as singles. A limited amount of handpicked bombers/750s also. Pipeworks, FFF, Prairie, Radium City, Off Color, Hailstorm, Revolution, and more. Not a lot of imports, but a few. Noticed St. Bernardus and Castelain.

Service was good, the clerk walked me through the basics and offered help which was great. They have a rewards program with points towards cash back on your purchases. Prices were fair, and most things seemed current though there were a few fall seasonals lingering from last year. Overall a very solid shop out in the cornfields, and probably the best within 15 miles.

Fun facts about Plano, it was the setting for the fictional town of Smallville in the film Man of Steel, and Mies Van Der Rohe's Farnsworth House is in the area, if you're into funky modern architecture.

Stumbled into this place walking to dinner. Big redwood tree bar and lots of picnic table seating. Really cool ambiance and the bartender was very enthusiastic. Got a sampler of four beers and they were all pretty decent. Really liked the smoked kolsch they had. Will be back next time I visit SF!

Read Joseph Mitchell's New Yorker piece. Pub is sawdust, simple and old... " a time machine back to the 1800s." Liverwurst & Onion sandwich is a must, beer selection is poor.

ABC Fine Wine and Spirits

Unfortunately, this instance of ABC is located in a less desirable location (i.e., the bad part of town.) Though the place is an older model, it's not necessarily run down, just older. There's way too many people milling about the entrance, and the help is only existent when you're ready to pay and head out.

As far as the selection - it's good for the booze, but poor, very poor when it comes to craft beer. It's surprising when you consider how good it is at other instances of this business in the county.

I'm not sure if I will ever go back, but maybe after a time I'll give them a try once more.

I've been here a couple of time - to buy mostly craft beer and a wine on occasion. Their wine selection is definitely four-stars, IMHO, however their craft beer selection leaves me wanting. The deals on 12-packs are mostly older 12-packs that have sat for several months, not necessarily a bad thing, but it would be nice to see the same on newer packs. I would give this place a higher rating otherwise.

The place is definitely clean, the staff is friendly and willing and wanting to help. I just wished they had a greater and more varied selection - A single display near the coolers doesn't quite scratch my itch.

I have only tried one of the beers from Battery Steele (Flume), which was a solid IPA. However, the "brewery" experience was a little weird. We bought cans out of the back of an industrial park (behind Foundation and Allagash) so it was really hard to find. Additionally, the guy that was selling everyone cans was a bit of a dick. I don't know if it was because it was 10am on Saturday, but they really need to work on their people skills - thus the poor scores for service and vibe. It is a shame because their beer has a shot to rival players like Bissell Bros. in the area. Get better guys. stop being assholes.

Probably the best spot I have stopped in WV (close to I-64 / I-77) when traveling through the state as far as the combination of beer and food with a convenient location. The place was lively/busy at brunch/lunch time on a summer Sunday with a crowd that included families and patrons in 20s/30s/40s.

Beers were well poured in a variety of appropriate glassware, at a reasonable temperature, and with a decent amount of head.

Service was friendly and attentive with a decent knowledge of the beers that they had available.

Decent selection though there was a fair number of Sierra Nevada beers since they had a Beer Camp event recently and only a couple of WV options.

The pizza was really enjoyable - nice wood fired pizza with a decent selection of toppings/combinations depending on what you were looking for...

So, this place is directly across the street from the Allagash brewery, which I thought a little strange, but I guess this allows them to pick up traffic from the Allagash crowd. I showed up early 10am for a release of Epiphany and there was a line of about 15 people. they were just selling out of a garage door on the side of the building, nothing else really going on. What was annoying was that despite just 15 people in line, it took about 20 minutes to get beer. I noticed at least 5 people working (moving things around), but only 1 person taking orders. I almost felt they wanted to keep a line for the purposes of having a line. that is a little annoying. I don't know if it was because it was early, but the employees were also not friendly. definitely not a great experience. Beer was also very average.

Great location , you feel like you are in the sticks, Hop vines are in early stages, although it looks like they could use some tending

German style beers are spot on, others are bit more hit & miss with a dominant house yeast strain going on. The Hop & Vine & DIPA were pretty good

Service was decent, not very chatty about their product

Selection not bad about 12 taps

Will be bacl, some food choices, just down the road from a friend's house, so we'll be back...

This it the first Total Wine I've visited. It has an incredible collection of craft beer, domestic and import. I found one of the seven remaining styles I need to try to have had them all. But - I was disappointed that they could not seem to find another that their website said they had in stock at that store. I did find a number of other beers that I've wanted to try but could not get back in South Dakota. A downside to the store is how crowded it is. I did get help and checkout was quick, but pretty annoying to try to stand back far enough to scan the shelves and have folks with carts continually pushing by. Based on the crowd and the selection, they seem to be successful. I will return, particularly since it is relatively close to the malls I can drop the womenfolk at whilst I do my shopping.

This hole-in-the-wall liquor store has an incredible collection of craft beer, including many that I can't get in South Dakota. I spent almost $200 and I had to really restrain myself, knowing I was visiting another store later, and knowing I had to leave room for the girls' purchases at the outlet mall. I could have easily spent twice what I did, and I found beers I did not expect to find, even there. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of single beers, bombers, packs, kegs, and growler fills. They also looked to have a decent wine and liquor selection. I can't believe how many times I drove by here on the interstate over the last 50+years, growing up 30 miles away, and was unaware of it. If you are visiting Wisconsin or Minnesota, this is a must-stop, though I expect their beer selection may not exceed what is found in New York, Chicago, LA, etc - but still worth a visit.

Arrived there right at lunch time today, and I was the only one there, so I sat at the bar and tried beers before settling on one. A couple came in and we had a good time talking with the taptender/waitress. I had their burger and it was probably the best restaurant burger ever. The patty was very think, with lots of mozarella and bacon. Service, beer, and foor were all excellent. Loved the atmosphere.

The place is huge with tons of tables and an enormous rectangular bar but has all of the atmosphere of a TGI Fridays/Applebees - it was loud between the din of the other patrons and the really loud music, so loud it was hard to have a conversation. I was there for a slightly late dinner on a Saturday evening and the place was real busy with mostly people in their 20s and the lighting was very low.

Beers were poured in appropriate glassware for the style (snifter/tulip/nonic pint/weizen) and at a reasonable temperature but unfortunately they were served with absolutely no head - it appeared to be an issue of the bartender trying to get the glass as full as possible and continuously dumping off the head.

Service was somewhat friendly and somewhat attentive though somewhat obsessed with taking the printed draft lists away constantly, the minute that you took your hand off it.

They had a huge selection of drafts (I think it was like 132 lines) but overall not the most impressive selection as there were a lot of beers that could be found just about anywhere and the local choices they had featured heavily with the KY breweries that are distributed to NC as well.

Food was what I would have expected for chain restaurant bar food - not bad, just nothing special.
