Swamp Head Brewery began in 2008 with the dream and vision of bringing the nation's growing craft beer culture to Florida. Our 30 barrel Gainesville brewery is working to make this vision a reality one batch of handcrafted beer at a time.

Nice venue with large indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating overlooks a pond and has multiple picnic tables. Great and varied selection with numerous items to go. Waitstaff are always helpful and willing to pour small samples.

Great location on a small pond and plenty of space, including a game room which extends into the brewery itself. Great, knowledgeable staff and a long tap line of their own brews, including a few of very limited availability. My only issue is the place has little noise absorbing qualities so the din is fierce.

Love this brewery. Sits in a swampy area of Florida that's off the road and seems out of nowhere, but beautiful on the outside and in.
The beer is just about average, but there are a few very crushable brews that I loved.
The service was fantastic, very welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful staff.
Pretty great selection with a number of usual IPA and APA options plus some other interesting options.

Second time driving up to new Swamphead from Citrus county. First time there was limited selection (for unknown reason). This time I got there 40 minutes before opening, but employee saw me and wetlands let me in early so I could fill growler and get 10-10-10, tropical disturbance and smoke signal and get back on road to Citrus. Great that they went out of their way. And I am enjoying great beer. Wish I could stay later and enjoy wetlands, but I am an old fart.

New brewery location has a modern feel and more space in the tasting room. The selection is good but limited to mostly year round beers. Would love to see more stouts

Wide open industrial looking space with cool, cut wood bar and natural sliced wood table tops. Love that.
Music is a bit too loud but appropriate for the crowd.
Staff is relatively friendly and quite knowledgeable. A full house on Tuesday @ 6 and the they are just flying and smiling behind the bar.
Their beer selection is wider than I expected based on my experience at liquor stores and beer bars. The rotating taps are very interesting 3 days before Xmas. Good stuff and a good time had.

Visited yesterday, toured the brewery, and indulged in several of their quality craft beers. Loved the place and loved the beer even more!

Best brewery between Tampa and Atlanta. Wonderful new location is spacious with a beautiful nature view, including pond and bat house. This is one of the best brewery grounds I've ever visited.

Update 12/15/15. New tap room at new brewery is huge! Same great vibe, music and people; and now more space indoors and out, and more parking. Food trucks too! Many beers on tap are year round and you can get growlers to go. They have some seasonal beers for sale in 750ml bottles.

Reviewing from notes. Visited late afternoon in October and found the tap room of this working brewery hopping. A significant portion of the visitors were filling their growlers as this was a Thursday prior to a home football game in Gainesville. Everyone was friendly and the beer servers knowledgable and attentive. Sampled a number of brewery only beers and found all to be at least solid and some great. Will definitely visit again.
