Bourbon and rye barrels work together in harmony to breathe life into our Ryewine. This unforgettable ale is brewed with over 60% rye, yielding entirely unique malt- and barrel-derived complexities. Enjoy an ample body that suggests sweetness but still finishes smooth and dry. Enjoy life now, or store cold.

Revolution Ryeway to Heaven Bourbon and Rye BA Rye Beer, 15% ABV. Pours dark-brown with a one-finger beige head that left no lacing. Aroma is rye spice, bourbon, toffee, and malt. Taste is spicy rye and bourbon, moderately sweet, faintly bitter, no perceived bourbon/rye burn. Dry mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Nice complexity.

Maltheads rejoice! Now HERE'S a BA rye/barleywine w/great mouthcoating/tung-scrapin' palate heft; a huge caramel/brown sugar/toffee/malty/whisky/rye-spicyish flavor & a big mouthcoating, tung-stompin' finish! In-TENSE/boozy/strong & somehow well balanced & smooth for a 15(!)%er!

Pours a perfectly clear dense mahogany. Very liquid actually, lots of fizz, short lived head, and bubbles for ages.
Smell is surprisingly generic. Bourbon barrel barleywime really. Sweetalty fruit with bourbon backing. Would never had guess this is with rye.
Taste is the same, some sweetness and as it warms up a bit too much sharpness from the alcohol.
Feel is a bit too carbonated and thin for my liking.
Was hoping for much more here.

12 oz can canned 10/31/24 into a tulip glass.
L: Pours with a cola-like fizzy look. It is a murky dark leather color with steady carbo, no head but a trace of edge foam, no lacing.
S: Toffee, chocolate, woody bourbon barrel, malts, caramelized grains, maple syrup with warming.
T: Toffee, dark sweet overripe fruits, malty, caramelized sugars, a woody note, maple syrup, it is nutty, distant lingering bourbon barrel, rye notes are subtle and are more so in the finish. They blend with the fruit tastes and sweet malt. It is sweet on the lips and palate.
F: Silky smooth medium-heavy bodied mouthfeel with a long and feather soft dry finish.
O: Tastes like English toffee & chocolate. The barrel notes caress an already relaxed taste and feel. It does lean a tad sweet but it is not intense. Incredibly saturated and balanced. I found it to be sort of a Barley Wine. NTL it is world-class in its style.

Appearance: Pours tea colored with a one finger ecru head that slowly fades to a film before disappearing; leggy with a few dribbles of lace
Smell: Fig, plum, cherry and burnt sugar; spicy Rye and Bourbon tones caress and complement
Taste: Fig, plum and cherry forward with the burnt sugar and spicy Rye elements building with complex interplay; through the middle, the Bourban and Rye barrels make a distinct impact without dominating the finish
Mouthfeel: Full body with low to moderate carbonation; warmth in the gullet
Overall: More an American Barleywine than a Rye Beer (OK, a Ryewine I would accept); what I really like here is the way the barrel treatment, despite the massive ABV, doesn't dominate to the point where you cannot taste the other elements

Look - Pours a dark red color with a nice head that goes away after a minute or so.
Smell - A mild rye scent with a light hint of bourbon, and a little dark fruit. Smell is rather mild.
Taste - Rye bourbon, dark fruit, and a light spice.
Feel - Low carbonation, smooth. VERY easy drinking for a 15%ABV beer.
Overall - Decent, but not as good or flavorful to me as the current score (4.36) would indicate. The 15%ABV will catch up to you fast if you're not careful. ;-)

Dark, mahogany color. Thin, off-white head. Caramel malt, nuts, cocoa , wood and vanilla in the aroma. Rich and balanced taste. One of the best beers I have tried lately.

Got a can from Tavour and this beer is almost perfect in flavor and well-balanced profile. This has to be one of my top 5 beers of all-time

12oz canned 10-31-24, opened 3-7-25.
1 finger sand colored head fades to a solid cap then a ring and island. Slippery lacing disappears.
Orange-red-brown body with a glow...not clear or murky.
Brown sugar, wet wood, spice, baked apple, and booze in the aroma.
Raisin, brown sugar, malty as all get out.
Full body, round mouthfeel and very, very sweet.
Long sweet finish with some heat and a spicy tingle on the side of the tongue.
Huge beer, a sipper to be sure...too sweet for my tastes.
Good to Very Good.

12oz can served in a snifter. Date stamp on bottom: "FILLED 10-24-2023 08:34:25"
Appearance: Translucent coppery-brown with a thin off-white head. Some thick islands of lacing that slowly dissipated and slid down the glass.
Smell: Vanilla, bourbon, caramelized malt, and a hint of rye.
Taste: Very similar to how it smells, but with a lot more sweetness tempered with a boozy bite.
Mouthfeel: Very thick and creamy, just right carbonation, warming finish, but not hot even with the 15% ABV. Does indeed have a dry finish. Nearly perfect mouthfeel.
Overall / Drinkbility: A definite slow sipping and savoring beer. It definitely fits the description from the brewer about being a Ryewine, as this beer has definite characters of an American Barleywine, which is how I think it ought to be characterized, rather than as a rye beer. The rye flavor is in here.....but it's kind of muted vs. all the sweetness and bourbon barrel notes. Still, tasty and enjoyable on a cold winter evening. Dangerously drinkable as well - the high alcohol starts to become hidden as this beer warms up (which surprised me).

Knew looking at 15.0% ABV that this should be a good one. Second guessed myself when I poured it into a glass and it was a copper brown color with minimal head. It smelled good but was blown away when I tasted it. Sweet, alcohol is present but mild. Great finish. A real good sipper.
