The reputation of this brewery caused my wife and I to stop by to try their beers, and hopefully enjoy a pour of The Deal With The Devil too. (Sadly that was wishful thinking.) This place is located in an industrial park, and there is a modest amount of parking next to the building. The tasting room entrance is near the rear of the building and leads to a small area that is not partitioned from the brewing equipment and foeders. The equipment adds to the vibe, but other than that the look is industrial. The amount of seating is only modest, and you have to find tables situated in the brewing area. Some seating is outdoors near a fire pit. Service is from a bar without seating. The bartender knew his stuff and was very helpful later when purchasing a sweatshirt.
Only 10 beers were available. We wanted to order a sampler flight to arrive at an overall evaluation for this review; however, no sampler flights are offered, although two tastes per person can be had. We had already had beers with our lunch, so we couldn't order as many beers as what we would have liked. We had three beers and fully enjoyed each one. Each was brewed well to style, and I thought the Interstellar Void mixed-culture was a standout. Some beers are available in cans or bottles to go, but sadly, Deal With The Devil was not one of them.
It was an experience to visit this brewery, and we would do so if ever in town again.

Large modern facility; great decor; plenty of stool and stand seating. Huge super clean looking Foeders. Nice decor.Nice outside seating and cool specialty seating inside an oversized Foeder. Internal high end food truck food ( sliders, etc.). Looked awesome.
Great people. Very knowledgeable staff/servers at bar. Lousey acoustics because of hard walls and floor with 20+ foot ceilings in converted warehouse space. HST … wasn’t too noisy on a modest size crowd on a Saturday afternoon. Some tunes playing in background.
Beer selection was pretty limited considering the resume of this excellent brewery. Happy that correct glassware is used.
Bigger more adventurous brews were limited to 375 bottles and at $3/oz… I passed.
Overall it’s a very nice old school industrial park tap room. The beers are good; the people know their stuff. Just couldn’t shake the feeling that I was in a Napa Valley winery vs brewery.
Worth a visit if in ANC.

Smallish taproom with walk up to counter service. Excellent beer with even better bartenders. No seating at counter but long tables a few steps away. Some outside seating with fire/heaters. Adequate parking. Food (sliders/pizza) now on site. The sliders were quite tasty. Limited cans (4/pks) and bottles to go. I will definitely return.

this place has long been one of my favorite breweries, and it was absolutely all time to finally get to visit, even though my time here had to be brief, i really enjoyed myself and it certainly lived up to expectations. the space is sort of tucked back in a little mixed use industrial looking area, some other food and coffee and beer spots around, but lots of warehouses and heavy equipment and stuff around. theirs is tucked in the back corner of a little plaza, unassuming for how big they are in my mind, a little outside space on the side and in the front, a standing room only bar area perhaps due to covid, just a few tables against the front wall, and then a little hallway with some high tops in front of the wooden tanks, one of which you can even sit it. you are right among the brewery here and thats pretty cool, they also have some of the most beautiful foeders ive ever seen, cool space for sure. i was a little unimpressed with the tap list if i am being super critical, just that it was smallish, ipa heavy, and only had one wild beer on, no problem, everything here is such high quality, but i thought there might be a more robust list of offerings. i had the oracle, a super cool blueberry and haskap beery funky beer, a hazy double ipa with vic secret, and a wicked imperial porter in heady barrels with vanilla beans, all were insanely good, and that is no surprise, these guys slay top to bottom. the dude serving me was humble and welcoming and nice, and the vibe here overall is real laid back. they have a little kitchen operation here too, maybe a separate business but its right inside, and it looks like they do way more ambitious food than is common in most taprooms, i will have to hit that up next time. really rad experience, some of the best beer anywhere, and a place i will visit as often as i am back to anchorage. world class through and through!
edit: i was finally here when it was nice enough to sit outside, an unexpectedly large patio area with cozy fireplace seating areas, an awesome place to take in some afternoon sun and some of amazing beer that is always flowing here, it seems to at least double the capacity of the inside, really cool area. i love this place and will continue to visit as often as i am in anchorage!

Good music, good people. They don’t update their pour list online, so you never know what is on tap until you walk in. Usually about 8 of their own beers.

A down to earth Alaska man makes for a great lead brewer, good beer, and low key but great atmosphere. They have quickly outgrown this rather newer space due to their popularity, so plan accordingly if you intend to stop by, especially on a big release day. Dogs are allowed, as are children, which is nice. It is kinda located in a weird area of town, but with the newer king street building coming in next door, and other nearby buildings popping up, the area will likely seem less random sooner rather than later.

I waited in line for their release of DWTD (an Amazing Beer). I have to say, even with how rude some of the locals were to Gabe ( the owner), he and his employees treated us out of town folk (from Washington) like we had been friends for years. [Service, 5 out of 5] The inside of the brewery is beautiful, very clean setup, the tasting room is very nice and you can go in a little outside area and sit around one of the 2 fires. The place feels as every brewery should. [Vibe 5 out of 5] Try DWTD or one of their Saisons, you'll agree. [Quality 5 out of 5] I think there was about 8 total beers on tap, a fair selection, IPA's sours, Bwines, something for everyone. All in all this brewery is a 5 star business, amust stop location if you're ever in Alaska.

I visited Anchorage Brewing two days ago and absolutely loved it. It was hands-down my favorite brewery stop in Anchorage. The build-out is great, with wood-cladded brite tanks and local artwork hung everywhere; its location is a little out of the way but it seemed like a great place to hang out. The quality is outstanding; they do a great job with their mostly-oaked and mostly-Bretted beers. They had 10 beers on tap when I visited, including a Mikkeller collaboration and a Mikkeller contract brew. This place is absolutely worth a visit; if you can only stop at one Anchorage brewery, make this one it.

Anchorage brewing is the premier brewery for Alaska. Their tasting room is very modern with a wide selection of most of their beers except ADWTD which is disappointing. Plenty on tap. They also have a wide variety of bottles but they need to update their reader board since two variations of Darkest Hour were available in bottles but not on the posted list. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Only been open for a few months. Can see Mt McKinley from the main room on a good day. Rooftop overlooks the city and also the northern view toward Denali. Brew house is glasses in, set behind the bar, giving you a great bar room atmosphere. Tap list includes ales, lagers, and small batches. Service is great, with lots of bartenders who are knowledgable about the area. Descent gift shop. They have growler and crowler (32oz can) options to take home.

I've been toying with the idea of RV road tripping from New England to Anchorage and this place sealed the deal for next summer. I put their beer and vibe right there with Surly, 3 Floyds, Treehouse, Lawson, Alchemists. Never been in a brewery with so many great lines flowing at the same time. Scariest thing is they are brand new.. Bravo
