Cool beer garden a bit east of downtown. Large open shed with plenty of picinic tables under roof and in the open backyard. Small service bar at the entrance on the left. 40 plus beers on tap, nice assortment. Efficient service. My first pheasant hot dog. Interesting.

OK...this place is different. I mean WAY different. I visited this fine establishment a couple of months ago and found it to be charming, surprising and good. Yes, they brew and their beers are good; they have a very fine array of guest taps, the beer garden atmosphere (all in open air) is very nice. The food menu consists of wild game wurst and other top notch yums. I would mightily recommend this place.

It's a hipster spot but it's near my house. Everyone is nice, good service, and amazing food. All of the dogs are good. Dome Faux'm is pretty good for a cream ale. They have some bottles now and then that are rare.

This is a "gourmet hot dog" bar/stand just east of downtown. A big thanks to elWhite for pointing this place out to me. I love the feel here. There is a small bar that everyone lines up at to order. Huge outdoor seating. The area right in front of the bar is covered, but there is a large deck off to the side, and a big yard in the middle of it all. Some picnic tables in the yard, and an area to play horseshoes and even a basketball court. No inside seating, so be warned. It is hard to get much more relaxed.
The food is excellent. I was skeptical of the gourmet hot dog tag at first, but that is what they have. A soft pretzel bun with smoked rabbit, elk, duck, boar, and anything else you can think of. The food is fresh as can be, and once its gone that is it. The service is good for basically a stand. At peek hours, you have to wait in line. Though they get through it fast. The bartender up front knows her stuff, and is friendly. The food comes out quick as well.
On to the beer. They have a rotating selection of six taps. Plenty of locals like Saint Arnold, Real Ale, Independence, and 512. Also Rogue, Dogfish Head, and BrewDog can be found on occasion. Plenty of bottles as well. Bear Republic, Stone, and Rogue bombers.
Overall, a really unique place. I love the atmosphere and food. You can't go wrong with the selection either. A really good food and beer destination.
