Perfect.
A real live BA bar.
Quality, variety, depth, in beer, scotch, food, and service.
25 or so stools around the u-shaped bar. Private booths for another 25 people. Some additional tables all in the bar area.
2 other rooms have more space for larger (more than 6) groups. Parking seems sufficient.
Back to the Kwak cask.

Perhaps not the most authentic of experiences, but the food and beers are excellent, the space is hopping, and the service is solid and attentive. The beer list was one of the most extensive I've seen in what is first and foremost a restaurant, so kudos to them. And if you are in the area, this is not a spot to skip, even if the architecture is a bit kitschy and the decor a touch stereotypical. It makes it up because it is so good.

During my 5 years living in the western suburbs of Chicagoland, this was one of my primary go-to locations. Whether one was after quality domestic beers, imports, or events (like Toppling Goliath keg tappings), this place has it all. The tap list is well curated for everyone from adjunct-friendly hopheads to Reinheitsgebot purists, the ambiance is pure German bier hall, and the sauerbraten and schweinshaxe are excellent fare.
If you happen to be in the western Chicagoland suburbs, this is well worth your time for a stop.

Traditional German food and a great beer list. German styles of course, but many, many other choices from top line brewers. Yes, you can get good IPAs here. Beers served in proper glassware, usually from the brewer of the beer. Nice lodge-like interior. I'd go again.

One of our favorite places on God's green earth. Classic lodge feel with old world flair, bar area is communal and has an impressive array of beer tackers, including many from the old world. Beer selection is unique, they get kegs from germany and belgium that only a handfull of places in the US do. They also has deep connections with chicagoland favorites, if you ever miss a BA stout release, they will turn up here. Oh and course the food is just like back in bavaria and some thuringia, absolutely wonderful. Prost!

Highly recommend going here if you're a beer lover. If you love European food, then it'll be a even better time for you.

The best by far in quality and selection. Taps rotate out on a regular basis with some rare and hard to find selections. 35 to 40 taps with everything from the top US crafters to the top European brewers served in proper glassware. (beer nerd heaven)
The food is made in house from scratch and is as good as the beer selection and just gives that absolute overall A++ rating. Service is the final cherry on top, the best. If your within 1000 miles, its a must stop and check out place.

They always have interesting and great beer on draft - and having great food doesn't hurt either! One of the go-to's for the Chicago burbs!

Friend brought me there because they had Arctic Panzer Wolf on tap (operative word "had"). Glad it they we out and although the were quick to offer a Revolution Anti-Hero there was no need. I could think of no bigger insult than to drink an IPA in this place. Not that it had a super authentic vibe but their German selection was outstanding and how could any one or two or ... not be washed down with bacon cheddar brat.

Huge list of beers. Beers are from all over including Germany, Belgium, the UK, and the US. Very authentic German food as well that is absolutely amazing. Don't go here expecting to watch a game on tv because there are no tvs. This place is all about the beer, food, and décor.

Finally stopped in here after a quick jaunt to Solemn Oath down the street (a ways). It appeared to me as a fairly generic-ish German-style restaurant for the most part, and I immediately took a seat at the bar, as is my wont. Plenty of vintage posters and beer paraphernalia on the walls surrounding the winding wooden bar. The tap list was pretty lengthy and a good, healthy mix of the usual stuff, local goodies, and some harder-to-find taps. In addition, I spied a bottle of the Aecht Schlenkerla liqueur on the shelf, but its rarity and cost precluded me from a tiny sample (fair enough, if disappointing, but at least the bartender let me down easy). Speaking of which, the bartender was rather amicable and certainly seemed to know a decent amount about his wares, or so I gathered from some of his banter with fellow bar-sitters. I can't comment on any of the other staff, but the general atmosphere definitely leaves me with a greatly positive feeling. I also can't comment on the food, as I was only here for a couple drinks, but the plates I spotted from a distance looked and smelled pretty good. Prices seemed on par with the general area, at least for the beers. Overall, this place certainly lives up to its lofty reputation. If I lived anywhere closer, I'd be here as often as time, money, and ability would allow. Alas, I'm too far to the north... Oh well, at least I was able to finally take in what many others have before me: Bavarian Lodge kicks ass!
