Purchased in ~Spring of 2022 and somehow just now getting around to trying it out. Right off the bat I'll say that this is a good looking beer. I'm pretty consistent in stating in my reviews that I find stouts all look very, very similar which makes them a bit challenging for me to rate. That said, there are still ways to stand out from the pack, and this beer does so nicely. Excellent head retention, and dark tan head that looks great. Combine that with really nice lacing and you have yourself a good looking beer.

Aroma, while not overly complex, has also held up well. Really nice roast balanced by caramel and dark chocolate.

Taste is heavy on the roast, with less of the sweetness than I detected on the nose. A tiny bit of dark chocolate shows up very late on the finish. Overall feel is fairly thin.

Overall, will this beer blow you away? No, but it's a very good, simple stout that would be quite enjoyable on a night out with friends where you want to enjoy a few beers without getting blasted. I have a soft spot for good beers with plenty of taste at reasonable ABVs, and a good stout at 5.6% fits squarely in that category.

Thanks to Roy_Hobbs for this one, part of the abuse he's administered during NBS BIF #15. 16oz can (No apparent date) poured into 14oz teku. Poured the fully dense, absolutely black color of the style with about an inch-and-a-quarter of dark brown head that had good retention and very light retention.

Very good roast took the front of the nose, with solid, yet soft, grains providing a base. Maybe a touch of earthy hops faintly in the background.

Similar on the tongue, with the roast being bolder, and the grains showing more strength.

The body was the expected full of the style, carried good carb, the roast lingered at the back of the palate, and the finish started sweetish, but dried out very nicely.

Drinkability was very nice, an enjoyable quaff.

Overall, the kind of stout one wants when one reaches for a basic example of the style. Worth your time if you see it.

Midnight black with three fingers of slow-building, creamy-looking, chocolate milk-colored head. Solid retention and lacing.

Roasty aroma with chocolate and a little tanginess to it.

Big roastiness continues to the taste. Some bitter chocolate, a little coffee and slight apple show mid-palate. There’s a certain ashiness to the aftertaste.

A touch above medium bodied with a nice creamy slickness and tight carbonation.

These folks know how to brew a good beer. Reviews from a can.
