The Mansion

Stopped for lunch. We ate on the "Terrace", which is rooftop tables with a great view of the water. Craft beer selection was pretty good, with a nice mix of locals, old standbys - and yes, they offer a couple of AALs for the snowbird set. Our waitress wasn't afraid to make recommendations.
The food is excellent. My blackened salmon sandwich was delicious and my wife's mahi wrap was likewise. Even the fries were better than usual.
The bottle shop (downstairs) doesn't have the largest selection, but it's nicely organized by style and big enough to provide something of interest to everybody.
Highly recommended!

1 Feb 2017 - This updated review is solely based on my visit to their 'beer cellar'...
What was once a nice hefty selection of craft brews, amounting to two long and tall aisles, has now been reduced to a single long and tall aisle. This, unfortunately for me, was quite distressing and very disappointing. Though the selection was truly craft at its core, the quantity is vastly reduced making it a place I don't consider in competition with Total Wine (which needs all the competition it can get, IMHO.) Anyway, The vibe is still nice the overall quality of choices is great and the service is there when you need it. I just wish they hadn't reduced the overall selection. Why, you might ask? They built a tasting room right smack dab in the middle of the cellar, knocking out half of what was their craft beer selection. Good progress for them, and a nice tasting room and all, bad for the beer lover looking for gems to take home.

Back in the day this place was a simple restaurant, and it was the place I had taken my wife out to dinner when we dated before we got married. So the locale has a special place in my heart. That said, it went defunk and came back as this bar/restaurant/craft beer heaven sort place - I couldn't have asked for more.

The vibe is pretty decent, better in the evening than say an afternoon lunch. Quality in terms of the local itself is phenomenal. The location now has a nice old Florida feel. The service has been hit or miss though. Sometimes I walk away good, other times has been frustrating. The selection of brews, whether in the restaurant, bar, or beer sales area is pretty spectacular. More so than most other local place. The food is good, not the best in the area, but when your there to actually down a couple of pints...well, what else really matters.

 

 

 

Crazy number of taps. Plenty of Florida selections. Nice place to sit outside and have a craft beer. The bottle selection is now well organized. Many harder to find items here. A little pricey.

I love the Mansion. I stop in the beer cellar at least once a week. Great selection, the best in town. And the guy who works in the cellar is awesome and has made some excellent suggestions when I'm being indecisive. Wish I could get in there to eat more often because the food is almost as good as the beer.

This is the place to come for craft beer in Florida if you are within 50 miles. As of 4/27/14 the Mansion has 73 taps and continues to grow. I see no reason why this place should not be the top bar destination in all of Florida for craft beer. Compared to Redlight Redlight in Orando, the Mansion consistently has a much better tap list. They have an in with getting the best tap beers from CCB, Stone, and a few other breweries. They have amazing food that covers the whole price range ranging $12-$40 a plate. They host beer dinners to compliment their beers (including a Stone beer dinner with Greg Koch himself). They also have a beer cellar, with just about every beer you can get in Brevard for an affordable price, and above all else, they listen to suggestions. This is the place to visit for craft beer in Florida

 

 

 

 

The mansion is a great place to go for a nice dinner and beer. They have a huge selection of beer both to drink with your meal and to take home. The food is good and there is a decent range of entrees available. In addition, they have an awesome rooftop dining area and patio which are incredible in the fall/spring. They also have a lot of interesting events where they offer decently priced course meals with beer courses, as well. My husband and I definitely miss this place now that we are not in Melbourne all the time.

The Mansion has 65 beers on tap. Really good beers, and a retail store with even more! The "Beer Hall" has unusual and hard to find brews. You can drink these in the restaurant, but their draft selection is so extensive I have never ventured to a bottle. Great, amazing selection! Food is really good too. Love the pretzels with beer cheese and mustard. Filet and Pork Chop are so good too! Bartenders know their stuff and suggest their favorites as well as letting you know what has been recently tapped. Talk about a beer selection! Found this place about two months ago and it is great. They have 60 beers on tap in the restaurant. Found it because I was looking for Dogfish Head 120 for my husband and they have it. They have had some great and hard to find beers there. Ask the Bartender what has just been tapped. Most bartenders are really helpful and have great knowledge about the selection. The food is really great too. We usually eat and drink in their inside bar in front tof the wall of taps, but since it was cool last weekend we went to their upstairs bar that is open and looks out at the river. Very nice! They also have a store with bottles of beers along with wines and liquors. My husband spends way too long shopping when we visit. He has gotten some really great beers to take home and enjoy later. I have to say the place is really cool. Must check it out is you are visiting, or if you live near it like we do, make it your regular spot.

Where to start with The Mansion - oh yes with the beer. 80 tap handles, 20 in the upstairs outdoor terrace bar, and 60 downstairs in the tavern. The selection is wonderful and always changing based on availability of the many rare and hard to find specialty beers that are on tap. Also hundreds more available to go from The Cellars, which is the attached packaged wine and beer store (actually in the old mansion part of the very large complex). I can't say enough good things about the beer selection here.

If you are an IPA fan this is the place for you 10 of the 60 are IPA / Imperial IPA’s that you won’t find in any one spot anywhere near this area. Definitely the best draft beer selection within 100 miles of Melbourne Florida.

The food is wonderful, very wide variety of menu items to choose form. You can’t go wrong with a beer and the Bavarian pretzel sticks with beer cheese appetizer. Expect a little wait on a nice night or on the weekend, it is a very popular place to go, but what could be wrong with grabbing a spot at one of the 2 bars and trying out one of the 60 specialty beers on tap (did I mention that yet?)
