Baderbräu Brewing Company

Excellent beer in a fun artistic atmosphere. The food tastes good and brought in a courteous and timely manner. The best part about Baderbrau is the beer. They have a nice selection of great tasting quality beers from their Pilsener to bocks, marzen and Oktoberfest to IPLs and wheats.

Taproom is an elevator ride up one floor to rise above the brew house. Plenty of room for easily 100 people or so around a u-shaped bar and several four tops.
Beer is varied. They infuse a beer every weekend and present it in a firken on the bar. It's there until it's empty. I had the Chicago Pilsner infused with pistachio. Awesome.

I enjoyed several classic German styles and the food is imaginative and delicious.
Bright and colorful mixture of wood and decoration.
Service is engaging, knowledgable, and they seem to be having a good time.
Cans and growlers to go are reasonably priced.

Attended the CBS Brewpub Shootout here. Cool taproom space upstairs with lots of natural light coming in. Windows on both sides, into the brewery below and west-facing views of a truck yard and the State St. overpass bridge over I-55. Splashy colorful graffiti murals on the brewery side.

Service at the bar was quick and friendly, beers are offered full size or mini snifters to try them out. The Chicago Pilsner and Gunsmoke were good quality, they had maybe 8 beers on. Selection was ok, sort of middle of the road but I liked what I had.

Overall it's a pretty nice place, worth checking out. Not the most accessible location, we walked from the Cermak train station. I think there was free parking under the El tracks a block west.

 

 

Came here while staying at the South Loop Hotel, as its a block away. Apparently the taproom opened a week ago. Nice place with view of the brewery from windows. 10 taps of their offerings and they do flights. Beer was decent enough. Worth trying if you are in southside, but likely not a place you would make an effort to venture to.
