Daredevil Brewing Co

Really nice place. The 4 beers I tasted were all very good and they had an excellent selection of guest taps. Food was awesome along with excellent service.

My wife and I stopped here to try their beers and to have a late lunch. The place was not very busy on a Saturday afternoon. This area is a fairly new commercial development, and on-street parking is what I used. The pub is a large open space with the vibe being a bit industrial. A long bar is partially blocked by the placement of some high-top tables against it (social-distancing?) but there were 6 stools at one end of the bar. A number of tables and chairs were also available. A couple of overhead doors can be opened to a covered patio area. Ordering is done at the bar.

There are 24 taps but only 10 beers were available including a radler and a shandy. Two ciders, a radler and a seltzer were from guest brewery sources. The beers included 4 German styles plus an American Lager, so lagers get a fair exposure here. To evaluate the beers we chose two sampler flights for 8 total. All were brewed well to style except the Pils, which had a strange flavor that I couldn't identify. All of the lagers had an abv between 4.5 and 5.4 percent which made them seem weak when drank next to the ales. I enjoyed seeing and drinking the German styles though.

There is limited food offerings of hot dogs, brats and pizza. The pepperoni pizza is the best that I've had in a long time. The menu board noted that they have a food truck Friday, although only one truck was listed. There are some cans, crowlers and growlers available for beer to go. The beers were pretty good and our pizza was exceptional, so I'd come back if ever in the area again.

 

Nice taproom, very close to the Indy 500 raceway. High quality beers. One of the standout spots in Indy. The taproom is a little industrial side. A little more inviting taproom would run this place of the Indy list.

The brewery is located in an industrial part of town and there is quite a bit of street parking both times I've stopped. It's not been real busy either time, but I haven't stopped on a Friday or Saturday night. The have a couple TVs tuned to sports and no loud music or TV volume, which is a plus to me. They make great IPAs and good to great lagers, and offer a good variety. Service is good and my food was delivered quickly. The brat with sauerkraut and home made potatoe chips were very good and reasonably priced. They have a good selection of take out beer near the checkout. Definitely worth a stop if you're on Indy's west side.

Nice tap room with a spacious outdoor seating area. Would like to have seen more room on the interior, seems a bit cut off into the corner, but they produce great beer and the space utilized for the taproom isn't cramped by any means.

Cool location in speedway, nice brick and glass with high ceilings and a long bar. Daredevil makes some of the best beers in Indiana. Food is pretty decent. Great place to get a growler fill.

 

In Speedway, kind of a newer area. Real cool spot, pretty busy on a weeknight. Beer was pretty good, did not eat. The vibe and the crowd real upbeat in kind of a vibrant area (for Speedway at least)

 

 

 

Vibe- just don't love the atmosphere. Couple tvs. Real bright. Lots of standing. Fairly loud. Beer quality was good. Liked the glassware, liked the taste, place was clean, nice bathrooms. Service was great. An easy place to lineup for beers rather than randomly fight for a spot near the bar to get served. But you do have to do some leg work yourself. And the selection was nice. Full lineup of styles. Dry hopped beers, Barrel aged beers, IPAs a plenty, lagers. Overall, they've been doing some different hopped beers outside of their norm every week. I would return to try those in the future maybe. Would not return just to go hang out for a couple hours though. Just too busy.

Fun spot to hit if you're in Speedway (especially during race weeks). The taproom makes up part of their larger brewing location. Clean, industrial feel with a long bar along one side and tables against the wall. Love their focus on German ales and lagers (although you can also get a great IPA or DIPA). One of my favorite Indy breweries for takeout deals with their crowlers and great Friday/Saturday growler specials.
