In September of 2017, we released our first collab with Toronto's Bellwoods Brewery. Utilizing their recipe for Witchshark and applying our yeast and processes, Street Shark Double IPA was born. As part of our 2020 Hit Refresh series, we've brought back this mythical beer and amplified it to new levels.

At 9.0% ABV, Super Street Shark is a deep yellow and heavily hazy Imperial IPA. The nose offers a melange of fruit notes, with intermingling aromas of mango nectar, pineapple, papaya smoothie, and citrus zest immediately present. Towards the back of the palate, a fresh floral-meets-pine complexity rounds out the sip. Medium-bodied and fairly dry, Super Street Shark is intensely hoppy but well-balanced.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, Weyermann Pale, Flaked Oats, Munich Malt
HOPS: Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo, CTZ

16oz can dated 10/13/20.

Pours murky gold with barely a trace of head. Zero retention or lacing. Pungent stonefruit in the nose with boozy undertones. Candied peach, pineapple, and white grape. Medium bodied with a slick, resinous mouthfeel. Tongue-numbing hops on the palate with some mild heat following through. Grapefruit, hard peaches, mango, and pineapple. Finishes fairly dry with minimal malt, balancing bitterness, and lingering tropicals.

Drank from a 1 pint can purchased at Trillium Brewing Company, Boston, MA
10/13/20
Served in a tulip

Cloudy yellow ochre appearance. The completely opaque body was topped by a barely-there cap of tiny bubbles that quickly dissolved. No lacing whatsoever.

The aroma was super hoppy and fruit forward. Ripe peach notes came through big time. Loads of juicy mango as well. Citrus was also apparent. Orange and tangerine specifically. Quite sweet overall but appropriately so for the style.

The flavor profile was similar to the aroma. Uber hop saturated. Nice melding of citrus, stone fruit and tropical fruit notes. Loads of tangerine. Some tangy clementine was also noticeable. Touch of citrus zest. Big peach and mango presence in the center. Tangerine rind-like notes rounded things out in the finish. Hint of lingering bitterness. A subtle hop burn appeared after the swallow.

The mouthfeel was a bit disappointing. Medium bodied and somewhat pulpy. The liquid contained a very fine and subtle effervescence. This definitely seemed under carbonated.

Super Street Shark is a terrific double IPA that contains all the signature elements of a typical Trillium hazy. While nothing new or notable, this was quite enjoyable.

Another one of their "big" releases that are making a comeback - so much going on for so little.

Looks great like all Trillium beers. But the nose disappoints - "intermingling aromas of mango nectar, pineapple, papaya smoothie, and citrus zest immediately present." They are there but feels more like fruits from the midnight sun - present but lack the punch of the tropics. Perhaps, too much going on to make any impact and they seem to cancel each other. The taste is similar. Good mouthfeel though and for once, the carbonation was right for a beer. But, I need taste and flavor.

Extremely hazy with a great feel, but maybe a little sweet and a little bitter. Not as balanced as some other Trilliums. Must be the Canadian influence from the Bellwoods collaboration. Great lupulins.

Can. Pours like the Trilliums do. Turbid but pretty. It also smells and tastes like all the Trilliums do. I mean I think their product is very strong but good god, you've made, canned, and sold this beer before a couple hundred times. I am aware this is a collaboration beer too. Just feels like they stick to the playbook so often. Frustrating. Also, pretty heavy on the hop burn.

16 oz. can dated 10/13/20

Pours a milky opaque looking orange-yellow gold color with a minimal frothy white foam head. Smells massive, juicy and dank with boasting tropical fruit aromas, huge peach, pineapple, tangerine orange citrus, mango nectar, papaya, zesty white grapefruit, slight oniony dank resinous weedy earthy herbal floral grassy pine, with a small hint of bready malt underneath. Tastes really intense and concentrated, juicy with rich tropical fruits, mango nectar, pineapple, papaya smoothie, peach, nectarine skin, apricot, orange citrus, zesty grapefruit, lemon, lime rind, honeysuckle, mild caramelized crackery bready malt, and dank resinous woodsy spicy floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Fairly complex and hitting a lot of notes in the flavor department. Feels thick and juicy, creamy medium plus bodied, pillowy with smooth moderate low carbonation. Overall a really great DIPA.
