Very lively brewery in the classic rust belt revived brick building midwest taproom. Great indoor and outdoor space, live music and a huge bar set the tone for a fun night. The beer overall is pretty good, leans classic styles in selection, the porters really stand out as well done. The service did well to keep up with the crowd, very friendly and helpful.

Located in the art-filled West end of Duluth in an old brick warehouse. Has off street gravel parking and a yard for kids and dogs to romp around in. There's also a small outdoor stage for entertainment. A staircase leads you to the entrance. The room is long, tall ceilings with exposed ducting, wood floors, old & new mixed vibe. The bar is really long. Service is excellent and is very fast. The servers are very nice. There are a lot of beers to choose from and there are crowlers for sale. There is a medium sized music stage to one end and a large dance floor in front. They are popular in the music scene as a good venue to play. Bent Paddle is and has been very active and is a positive force in helping to support their community and they support hundreds of organizations. The taproom is usually fairly busy and there are events scheduled frequently. This is a top notch brewery with excellent beers. Highly recommended.

Large, old warehouse building in a reviving area of Duluth. Very long bar and a huge seating area with games and other entertainment option. Good selection -- all the regulars with rare releases. Staff was very busy and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances.

 

I thought I had rated this years ago but this is my first visit since the taproom moved to the new location across from the parking lot from the production brewery. I believe this taproom is also home to the pilot brewery. To say the taproom is an improvement over the original location is an understatement. Plenty of room with a lot of seating. It feels homey without the cliched approaches. You can tell this is a professional designed and not some haphazard amateur effort. You know the beer is going to be good and there are plenty of options no matter the type of beer one enjoys. Service is fast and friendly. Definitely not understaffed despite the rapid fire amount of customers.

 

 

In a former furniture warehouse. Big and open brick building. Lots of table and bar space. The beer is mediocre.

 

Stopped in on a weekend trip up to Duluth for some XC skiing and hockey back in January, and mid-day this place was absolutely packed, so we didn't stay for more than just one beer. Stop in another time, perhaps....

HOLY COW!!!! The new taproom is amazeballs! The beer is clean and crisp and fantastic!

Some of the best beer in the state. Odd location and somewhat uncomfortable seating, but friendly, knowledgeable staff and a great selection, with nitro or CO2 options for most of the beer. Only drawback is they limit growler fills to the stuff you can buy on shelves anyway--infusions have been off-limits in my experience.

 

While not in the most convenient location of Duluth, well worth the visit. Their taproom is quite small but very nice. Small taproom with a solid amount of seating.It was pretty quiet when I stopped by and I am not too sure on how frequent they hold events. The taproom does not appear to be able to hold large events. Not sure if they get taprooms or if there is any good delivery in the area. The beer is some of the best in all of Minnesota, between their flagships and seasonals, one cannot go wrong. Their double shot double black might be the best beer in all of Minnesota, move over Darkness.

 

 

 

 

I had received several Bent Paddle beers as trade extras and really enjoyed most of them. I was really excited to have their offerings on tap and buy some cans to go for vacation. We walked into the bar on a Saturday about an hour after they opened. There was 10 stools at the bar and we sat right in the middle. There were 2 bartenders and both of them ignored up for over 10 minutes until we got up and left.

It was unbelievable sitting there at the bar and watch people walk up repeatedly and get served while we were ignored.

The taproom is almost part of the brewery so the vibe is industrial/modern. Fairly small but the service is decent. It's a popular spot these days and was crowded when I was there. The draw is the excellent beers.

This brewery is in a unique industrial area of Duluth. The taproom plays off this location with a more industrial vibe. Though small, very inviting. Really fun place, I'd go back for sure!
