Great place to chill and relax. Informal small bar feel with campy horror film memorabilia scattered about the place. I love it easy going and fun nothing to serious and always something new and interesting on tap (several beer names are nods to these films too) I recommend it and the BBQ from next door makes a nice outing.

Cool place in a very industrial location. Nice look inside and a decent sized patio with some games. The beers were pretty good. There were a few misses. The service was solid. Free self-serve popcorn is a nice touch.

this place is way off the popular beer maps in kansas city and north kc, but it shouldnt be. its not far from downtown, and is easy to get to with modern technology. the space is neat, sort of set up in several zones, with a patio outside, burning in the summer sun and smallish, a brewhouse area that you cant really hang out in but have to pass through to get to the main taproom if you enter from the parking lot. a tiny little bar, minimal as can be, with just a few seats. the selection is predictable but neat, maybe eight or so beers on, basic styles for the most part but a few variants in the mix too. i liked the cherry hefe, and the kolsch was fully cereal driven and full flavored, better than many. the service was rad, entirely unpretentious, loosely busy, but kind and attentive, honest, its great, she was cool. from ten thousand feet, its just another brewery, nothing about it to set it apart from all the others, but on the inside, it feels personal, well cared for and curated, and more focused than a lot of them. cool place, solid beers, and deserving of more love than it gets. ive been told to come here last, and i did come here last, but it was better than a lot of other local spots from a beer standpoint, and should be higher on the totem pole in the scene here...

Stopped by on a Wednesday during KC's craft brew week. You wouldn't know it was CBW at this place. Not that that's bad, I just expected more than nothing. Actually, I was very comfortable just sitting at the small bar, bullshitting with the bartender and the few locals. It's a simple space in an industrial part of town just north of KC proper, with a small outdoor seating area. The inside is simple but comfortable, with a few flatscreens playing different movies. Definitely chill, but not some place you're going to take a date. Good tunes.
Had a flt. that included the Hefe the Killer (nice, 6%), Pennywise Sweet Tater Ale (pretty darn good, 7.1%), Aisle 12 Mango west coast IPA (delightfully unique in a crowded space, 7.2%), Forgetful River Pale (big malt base & very drinkable, 5.1%), and the Franklin Rd Coffee Porter (most excellent if you like coffee, and I do, 6.6%). In addition they had a Kolsch, sweet brown, Wee Heavy, nitro milk stout and a Chai milk stout.
I liked this spot. Kind of a destination for beerdos only, but it may evolve.

The beers here have a great look to them and are soundly made. They like to mix flavors and create beer meals in your mouth per se. Upcoming oatmeal raisin stout, had a cherry cheesecake beer recently.
The location is in an industrial park area, right around from a good taco place, which delivers. The atmosphere was relaxed and the bartender was very congenial and quick to conversation. They have a game room and an outside seating area that is just some picnic tables that extends into the parking lot. Actual bar area is small, seating 6 comfortably. Has a scattering of high top table and a nice lounge area with a couch or two. Not much lighting and may feel dark at night. Oh, and make sure you say hi to their brew dog, Bear.

This brewery is certainly improving. I usually come every two or three months, and their beers are becoming more ambitious and consistent. They seem to be fond of sweeter flavor profiles (vanilla cream ales, milk stouts, sweet brown ales, etc). They typically have one or two west coast style IPA's. Their hefeweizens (often two varieties) are usually quite good, and their new imperial milk stout on nitro is sublime.
