Maybe not a fair evaluation on the selection, but they were down several taps due to the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Really cool vibe with the building and not sure what it was in its prior life. It's across the street from grain elevators in a beautiful small town setting called Bargersville. The establishment has two floors and if you look close enough, they preserved the original rustic open joists for the 2nd floor of the building plus adding additional wood reinforcement. Super high ceilings and ample seating with a few TV's behind the bar. There's outdoor seating as well and I bet this place rocks it in the warm Summer months. We all had food and no complaints from anyone, it was all really good. Was disappointed because the tap list was down but no complaints on the quality of the available taps. Overall? Next time I'm in Indiana I would definately revisit this brewery, especially in the Summer months. If you dig Belgian styles, this is a cool place to visit. Food was great and the beers run the gammit from middle of the road to "Oh yeah".

The beer is exquisite and they have 24 of their own taps running. You can buy 4 ounce tasters, 10 ounce glasses, 16 ounce glasses and 32 and 64 ounce growler fills. In addition you can purchase 4-pack and cases of whatever is on hand.

The food menu is fairly limited and a bit on the upper scale side. Fairly pricey food, but I have to say, the food was incredible. The frites alone are worth the drive (almost two and a half hours for me).

Stopped into the Bargersville location during a trip across the state about 8pm on a Thursday night. The taproom is pleasantly decorated and well lit with several TVs on various sports and classic rock playing at an acceptable decibel level. The tap selection was good as all 24 taps are now Taxman beers. Everything is in the Belgian style, but they have several IPAs as well as traditional Belgian beers and sours. My server was polite, attentive and patient as I ordered a draft beer, food, cans to go and a glass. The draft beer I ordered (a Belgian pale with brett) was served in a long stemmed snifter and went nicely with the pretzels and beer cheese appetizer. All draft and to-go pricing was clearly laid out on the back of the food menu. Draft and take out beer was very reasonable. The food was a touch high priced, but was well prepared and delicious. It seems some things have changed for the better since earlier reviews, but there are still only two unisex bathrooms for a space that could hold 200+ drinkers.

A really nice spot that was well above my expectations. It’s south of Indy in a town I’d never heard of and wouldn’t expect such a quality brewpub to be in. The have some of the best Belgian beers you can get in the Midwest. Bold and flavorful. Nice patio. A hidden gem in an underrated state.

A great brewer of Belgium style brews and they always have a lot. My only problem is all of the beer, or good beers are heavy on alcohol. Food good and plenty of choices with about 15 house choices and about 10 other guest taps. Food decent but small menu.

On the plus side, the beer is good, there are a lot of options. The food is creative, although it does not always quite hit its mark, but is overall solid. The service was very slow, but friendly, and the place was admittedly hopping the night I visited.

Really cool brewpub that features a spacious lower dining and bar area (didn't go upstairs so I can't comment on that). Plenty of tvs around to watch a game if conversation is not your thing. Beer list is nice and long with a variety of options. My only downgrades in terms of scoring are the amount of food. The menu for food is very good and well presented, as well as the food itself. My only issue is the quantity of food is somewhat lacking, hence the lower marks for Quality and Food. Other than that, absolutely no complaints and will definitely be back.

Literally in the middle of nowhere (southwest of Indianapolis), Taxman is excellent, IMHO, especially if you like Belgian-inspired beers, which I do. They have their lineup, and they also have some guest taps (from around Indy), which were excellent the day I visited. Food was very good, too. If I lived in Indy, I'd be a regular.

I stopped by Taxman on a beautiful fall afternoon. I was heading there from SW Ohio, so I got to enjoy a nice drive through the southern Indiana countryside. The brewery is situated on a corner in the old downtown industrial area of Bargersville. On the day I visited, the brewery was THE place to be. Probably over a hundred people there. Very exciting for this small town area to have such a booming business. Unfortunately for me, I pulled into the parking lot right behind the Indy beer tour bus. (Why does this always happen to me?) That meant a really long wait for one of the two unisex bathrooms (hey Taxman, you have a huge space that can hold a couple hundred people who drink a lot of beer, and you only have two holes? why?). Also a long wait to get my growlers filled. But once I got to the front of the line the servers were very helpful bringing me samples to try, even though they were really busy.

I loved the vibe of the bar and eating area, and the outside eating space with the fire pits was cool. I didn't have time for food, but it looked good. They had 24 beers on tap--12 guest taps and the other half were their own, including the GABF Bronze medal winning quad. This is a brewery that focuses on belgian style ales, and everything I sampled was good. The locals are lucky to have such a great place nearby.

My only complaint was the long wait for a bathroom--some expansion is needed in this area! Overall, Taxman is definitely worth a visit, even if you have to go out of your way.

This is my favorite brewery in Indiana. For as new as it is, I couldn't be more impressed by the quality of beers coming out of this place. Freshest beer I've ever tasted come out of a keg. The other breweries in town are all solid, but Taxman blows them away with the complexity and drink-ability of their beers.

Taxman has a cool, modern vibe (especially the outdoor firepit and festival area) with consistently quality food you wouldn't expect at a standard brewpub. The burgers are beyond delicious, and I get the mussels and frites everytime I'm there. There are over 20 beers on tap to choose from, half of them being Taxman and other half being local or regional beers on draft.

The bartenders are all knowledgeable and friendly, and will take time out of even a busy night to give you recommendations or answer your questions about specific beers. I actually prefer to sit at the bar just because of how great the bartenders are.

This being said, while it is a newer brewpub, there is a definite need for improvement on the service. I have gone to Taxman multiple times since its inception, and every time but one have had lackluster service (when I haven't sat at the bar). It has either taken over 20 minutes to get a food order in, drinks have taken over 20 minutes to arrive, or the food has taken 45 minutes to come out. Also, I often have to flag servers down or just give up and walk to the bar the get a new beer. Despite this, the waitstaff are all extremely friendly and courteous and can make great recommendations to new beer drinkers (they were able to get my mom, a Bud Light Lime drinker, a beer she enjoyed), and the food DOES come out incredible every time.

I will continue to go to Taxman and heavily recommend it to anybody I hear talking about beer in central Indiana. When my friends visit from other states, I take them here. I can only see great things for the future of this brewery and look forward to watching them grow.

I really like the interior space at Taxman, lots of space at the bar and two floors of tables. I love that a brewery in a tiny central Indiana town focuses on Belgian inspired beers. The Quad and The Tripel are both right on point. Some of the fruited variations Taxman does miss the mark a bit in my opinion. Never had any issues with the service, the staff is always quick to offer a sample if i'm struggling to decide what I want. I guess my biggest issue with Taxman might be the prices. There are no prices listed on their board, in fact, you have to go to the back page of the food menu in order to find the beer prices (not great if you aren't ordering food). Normally this wouldn't be a big issue, but Taxman's prices are definitely high compared to most central Indiana breweries (and many craft beer bars).

Great brewery. A small drive out of the way but completely worth it. Their belgiums are awesome (world class). I highly recommend this place. Staff is very nice, got to talk to an assistant brewer Travis, very cool dude. Bar staff was friendly and talkative. Their beers are some of the best I've ever had. Real gem!!
