Apple Blossom, then Mellow Mushroom… let’s hit one more before heading to Eureka Springs! We made it to Fossil Cove 15’ before the 10pm closing time. I was amazed at how busy it was. The taproom was seriously packed and it didn’t look like anybody was going home, even after last call.
I like the place, another one of those taprooms-in-industrial-parks that have become so common around the US. As you go in, you see the brewing tanks and a couple of tables right next to them. A good place to chill with your beer if you don’t want to deal with the crowded taproom itself, which is right past the brewing area behind a door. Here you’ll find the small bar, a couple of high-top tables, merchandise shelves and a restroom.
I got a tasting of five beers for 8 dollars: IPA 3, IPA 6 (3.0), Tripel, Brown, Blizzle Black IPA (3.75)… beers were seriously blah (even though I was expecting Fossil to be the best brewery in NW AR) but the place is really cool. I dig the rural-hipster feel of it all.

Cool little coffe bar/ brewery in an industrial area on the north side of town. Two taprooms, one with an L-shaped bar that seats about a dozen and one with just a service bar in front of the brewhouse. Covered patio seating. 14 beers on tap. Efficient service. Food truck.

Ive been going to Fossil Cove since they've opened and its always been a great place to grab a growler fill or sit on the patio and enjoy a couple of their pints. Out of all the breweries in NWA they are by far one of the most consistent with their brews. My personal favorites are the Oatty Stout and the T-Rex Tripel, both are fantastic beers. Now that it's fall and Thanksgiving being right around the corner, their Pumpkin Ale is something I always get a couple of growlers of and take to Thanksgiving dinner.
