Good sized tasting room/ brewery in industrial park... going out of business 12/15... I don't get it... there stuff is well about average to excellent.... the 4 I had were very nice. Selling everything 5 bucks a bottle... seems pointless to describe the place... but worth the trip if you can get there before the 15th.

I had been a few times when all they had were Council beers and I liked it. Nothing to write home about but it was decent. On a recent visit, they had split out into a sub-brand; Magic Factory, which makes mostly sours and fruit beers. The new addition is exactly what Council, in and of itself, was missing. They have a pretty diverse menu and something for everyone. Not a huge place but its friendly, comfortable and affordable.

Council Brewing was located in a strip mall, industrial area about 15 minutes north of Downtown San Diego. From the outside, it looks like any other business in the area. However, once you enter, it's got a nice vibe. There is a bar and tap area as you enter and some tables around. The server was friendly and welcoming.
I came mostly for the sours, but a patron recommended their Tripel. I also tried a Beatitude variant. Black Currant. Both were good beers.
If in the area, I'd visit again and see what's on tap. Enjoyed my visit.

Right across the lot from Kilowatt. Decent number of brews. Had some limited release bottles for sale. Quality of beer ranged from fair to good. Would have liked more of the Beattitudes to be available. Peeps seemed nice. Decent

Small place and pretty good vibe over at council.
There is a lot of hype around San Diego about their beatitude series but I have to say I'm not too impressed. I previously loved their mosaic dry hopped beatitude but upon tasting at the brewery I was pretty disappointed.

Small little brewery, tucked inside an industrial strip mall. Inside they have about dozen in-house offerings. They have a flight option as well as by the pint. Pretty friendly and attentive service!

Went in on a weekday afternoon. Relaxing, comfortable atmosphere. Grabbed a seat at the bar. Tasted a couple of their tart saisons. Nice young lady offered me some strawberries. I accepted. Paired well with the Mango Beatitude. Paid, picked up a few bottles, and left. In and out in twenty minutes. Pretty efficient operation. Cheers!

Visited last Friday from South Carolina. Great young brewery. Very tasty range of beers. Loved their tripel and their sours. Hope to be able to get bottles in the future. Loved how they involve employees in creating the beers. Kelsey's OPG was great for example. Great job by Liz and her team.
