Barrel Head Brewhouse

Everything here is something that ‘works’ for me—they have house beers plus an impressive guest tap selection, plenty of food options, and lots of room—but the vibe when I visited felt too sports bar/college night/bro-ish, and I’ve yet to return despite passing by on a semi-consistent basis. Take of that what you will.

Surprisingly lively on a Saturday afternoon. Excellent quality across their range of styles, from English to German to Belgian. Sat at the bar, so service should have been attentive, but it was difficult to get the bartender's focus. Didn't have any of the food, but everything that went past us smelled fantastic!

we had an awesome time in here, met up with some old friends, and enjoyed some great beer and equally great food. the space decent sized but they make it feel cozy, sort of divided into smaller areas. they have a loft and another bar upstairs with some tables, good for private functions and the like, and downstairs there is a long bar on one side, some high top tables, a fireplace area, and placed all around are barrels, fermenters, and other hard equipment that looks sort of in the way, but creates the vibe of a working brewery rather effectively. the beers we had were real nice here. i had a dubbel with plums that was outstanding, as well as a quality dark barleywine. they had some interesting styles in here too, my lady had a fruited sour and liked it a lot. the food was bomb, we had some top notch chicken wings and some really good oysters, they have a cool menu in here. service was solid for how busy they were, i was impressed with that. this is a cool place to be around the holiday season too, not overly decorated or anything, but it was packed with strangers that felt connected through celebration, very urban but very cozy. for never having heard of this place until we stumbled in, i was incredibly impressed. hope to make it back in next time out west!

Great new(ish) brewpub in the USF/Panhandle area. They have a solid house brewed lineup with many eclectic and out of the ordinary choices. They also have a great variety of quality guest brews on tap.

The food is very good and their BBQ sampler platter is delicious!

We will return to this one
