On the outskirts of downtown, in an older and unassuming strip mall. Dark and nearly dive type decor. Helpful and friendly service. Some beers aren't good and some are good to quite good. Favored the double and single IPAs.

Best beer variety in Kalamazoo. I love this place. Wide selection of several different beer Styles. Very solid IPA with woppy. Excellent experimental series. Very chill atmosphere and extremely kid friendly with board games, video games, pinball. Food is good on the regular menu with the specials are what typically piques my interest. A lot of vegetarian / vegan selections. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful.

Stumbled upon this place in 2016 because the wait at Bell's was 2 hours (special event).
Stopped in with the SO for food and a flight on the way home from Chicago. Was for lunch. Plenty of families present and a decent atmosphere for kids.
Bought a nice snifter which I still use today.
Food was pretty mediocre. Same goes for the beer. Even with the SO driving I opted to pass on a beer after the flight given how unimpressed I was with all four.
I would try to visit other places in K-Zoo area before coming back here.

Now this is a cool place. Large taproom with wall to wall local vibes. I'd almost say it's better than the other much more famous brewery in this Michigan college town. They had so many beers I wanted to try and they did so many funky styles that all worked. I hope they never change.

Dug this place, beers were good, very engaging bartender, cool vibe. Would be a frequent visitor if in my area.

Felt like I was crashing someone’s living room party, only it was the largest living room I’ve ever seen. Far more spacious than I expected, judging from the outside. And there’s a patio for when the weather is nice, too. Beers were more hit than miss for me but I liked the laid back vibe.

Cool spot in a low-key strip mall. 10+ beers on when I was there, and the ones I had were very good. Lots of adjunct flavors in beers, but pretty well done. Board Games to kill the time.

One well was a shining star in Kalamazoo. The people were great and the beer were unique and extremely well crefted. The owners weren't there when we were in but the bar manager was very friendly and talked with us for quite a long time about various Kalamazoo topics. He was very informative and helpful.
We did a sampler of the beers plus a couple more. Pretty much tried them all and all were well crafted. The standouts were the simcoerilla, the professor nutbutter and the blueberry. I will say the sweet water stout was really great too.
We did try the food, it was very good. Limited to more sandwiches but very tasty. They also have a lot of board games available, also darts and the pinball machines and two arcades.
Overall a very laid back bar with extremely good beer. Must hit in Kalamazoo.

One Well is Kalamazoo’s newest microbrewery located in the same location the old Sunset Boulevard brewery which unfortunately did not make it. My buddy and I stopped in last Sunday afternoon. For 3PM on a Sunday they seemed to be doing a pretty good business. The place is small with a bar in the front and table in the back. They had about 10 beers on tap, and I got a sampler of 5. One I was not very impressed with, but the other were all good, especially the IPA and DIPA. They have no food service at this time, but do have a popcorn machine where you can fill up your own baskets. There is no wait staff, so you have to go up to the bar to order your beers, but everyone was very friendly. The owner / brewer came over and talked to us for a while. This place is brand new, and seems to have a lot of potential.

This is a revisit from almost three years ago, and things have changed. The beer is better, the place has expanded, and now they serve food. I am favorably impressed in comparison what my previous review says, so adjustments have been made in the rating scores so that the new rating reflects a current (July, 2017) picture of this brewpub.

My wife and I visited this brewpub to attend a beer dinner that was part of Kalamazoo Beer Week. (The pub does not have any food beyond chips and popcorn, so an outside company catered this dinner.) The brewery has been open for only a month or so, and is situated in a strip mall just a quarter mile north of I-94, so it has easy access for travelers. A U-shaped bar is located at the front of the pub, and a pool table and dart-throwing area are located to the rear along with communal and standard 4-seat tables. There are 12 taps plus a house made root beer. Only 6 beers were available, but the owner says that all of the taps will eventually be in use. Growlers are available for carry-out. Three wines from an outside winery are also offered.
We ordered a sampler of all 6 of the beers that were available (one other beer was scratched off the menu), and then a pint of the one beer that I liked the best. (The Whoppy Hoppy Wheat Ale.) All of the beers were brewed right to style, and two were determined to exceed style with extra flavor characteristics that we liked, and overall the beers were scored at a C+ rating. The Xalapa Jalapeno Blonde was the other beer that was notable with its nice balance of the jalapeno character with the light malt flavor of the Blonde.
I especially liked the vibe in this pub, and the beers are good, considering that they are from a new brewery like this one, so I expect good things to come as the beer recipes are tweaked and more beers are brewed to fill the available taps for a greater selection. We’ll return again to see how things are progressing.
