Maltese Brewing

Small brewery in a strip mall in the middle of some cornfields in Frederick. We found it looking for sites within the Fredericksburg National Military Park... it's got s fireman's theme and some friendly folks behind the bar.

I got a sample of seven of their beers. Some were pretty bad, including the mango and pineapple IPA's, while others like the Tripel were spot on. They make a Belgian stout and a port barrel-aged version that are pretty darn tasty. Kudos to their ingenuity.

First stop coming into F'burg. A small strip mall storefront, with some large logos on the windows. Kind of tight and small inside with a large L shaped bar. A few scattered tables and some pinball machiines. Fire department theme throughout. Small outdoot seating area through the back door, has some natural shade.

The most skilled beer maker in Fredericksburg that I've visited but this area is sorely lacking compared to Richmond or NOVA. Location is dooming and site is small. Has a fireman theme and patrons. An operation that would be a local gem with better funding.

 

A small brewery in a set back (from the road) strip mall just outside of Fredericksburg, VA. A small outside "terrace" provides a nice haven when the weather permits and the inside, Firefighter themed, pub is welcoming. A wide variety of beer is on tap at any one time. They offer fills in Growlers (64 oz) and Squealers (32 oz). They have their own or you can provide your own. They also offer the usual flight of tasters - I tried it and enjoyed them all! Recommended!
